This volunteer position was truly great. I had no idea what to expect, as it was my first time volunteering through Worldpackers, but this experience has motivated me so much to continue traveling this way. The job was fun, challenging and I really enjoyed the hours plus I had a great time with the other volunteers. Host was always available, very helpful and understanding of the problems that could occur, and even though there was a language barrier everything worked out great. I loved my time at the hostel <33

My stay in Xibalbá is been amazing! First of all Bacalar is a whole paradise and the hostel is very nice with chill vibes. With the others volunteers and Silvana and Christian i felt like in another home, everyone here is very kind and fun. The work is not hard at all and the hours are always well respected and there is mutual help always. I mean, i can't say anything bad at all for this place, i loved it and i'm loving it. In fact i also extended 3 weeks more, this place is addictive! Thank you 🫶🏻

This Place is a true gem for travelers that are developing their knowledge in PMS systems and have love + passion for hospitality. Is a great place to apply your FD skills while meeting beautiful souls from every corner of the world Awesome Christian appreciates so much Volunteers that are truly committed to the exchange and Silvana will help you in anything. If you have the luck to volunteer at these beautiful properties, apply your Hostel etiquette at all times. If any idea what this is, do your research, start polish yoursel, be proffesional and enjoy your beautiful journey in Bacalar.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hostel (never the hostel) for our 3 weeks. Work was easy & the environment from both guests and other volunteers was great during our stay! Christian & Silvana are super attentive and helpful. It was a lot of Spanish for us which was good for learning and we used translate when needed. 2 things to mention: 1. During our three weeks there was no hot water at all, it was rather hot there so didn't bother us too much personally. 2. The SUP free tour is no longer included unfortunately which we didn't find out until we arrived.

We both met some really cool people, the shifts were long but having 4 days off in a row (together with my partner) was worth it! The work was pretty easy. Helping sell tours and transfers was very rewarding for us. The breakfast was simple and the accommodation for volunteers could do with some tlc but it was comfortable. We would definitely come back here.

I enjoyed my time at the hostel, all the volunteers were super cool and friendly. The work is clear and easy to do.it's a very chill hostel, quiet compared to some others in Bacalar. Silvana is happy to help with any problems. I would recommend that you have intermediate Spanish to really be able to communicate with guests and locals.

I had an incredible time in bacalar! The Place is stunning, especially the laguna, and I've met amazing people during my stay. The work is really easy and you have a lot of free time. Aldough I need to mention that it can be quite hard in the beginning if you don't speak spanish, it sometimes can be a little isolating. We were offered a free sunrise SUP Tour which was a big plus. The Volunteer dorm at the hostel was quite comfortable but we had some minor issues because the toilet was broken. In conclusion I'd highly recommend this place, but keep in mind that there might be a language barrier.

I had a great time at the hostel, the tasks were easy to understand and I got to meet some amazing people !! Bacalar is also a lovely the hostel to live in, it's 100% really worth visiting. There were also some cons in my experience, namely that I felt like the volunteering dorm was not ideal to chill in, sometimes cooking was a bit complicated and overall I feel like I would've maybe prefered staying at the hostel than the hostel But apart from that I really recommend the experience, although it might be useful to have a good level of Spanish Thanks to the team!!
