The Experience

Join our young and fun team on Tioman Island in Malaysia. You'll help serving cold drinks and cocktails to our thirsty divers and the end of day. Our bar starts at 5pm and closes around 11pm or sometimes a little later when we have parties going. you will receive cost priced dive education. You will be helping in shifts with our permanent staff members that will mentor you during your stay with us.

Intermediate English or Intermediate German
Between 23 and 45 years old
Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

My experience at the host was more than great! I was treated excellently from the moment I arrived. The dive center is an amazing place to meet people from all around the world. The staff was very friendly, I improved my English, and after 10 days I was able to complete my Open Water course at an excellent price. I 100% recommend them if you love the sea, nature, and especially the host.

I volunteered at the host for 5 weeks and had an amazing time! I completed my EFR and Rescue during that time at a heavily discounted price and was able to do some fun dives throughout that time too. Drey is a great roommate and manager and will look after you and help with whatever you need. I enjoyed it so much here I stayed to do my DMT! Highly recommend if you're into the host and want to develop your skills

I had an amazing experience being a bartender at the host !! Everyone made me feel very welcome from the start and I got some free dives, accommodation, and food stipend in exchange for the host work so it felt like a fair exchange. the host was fun to work at and often didn't feel like work at all as I could socialise with staff and customers while serving drinks. The island is also beautiful and I enjoyed hiking and snorkelling on my days off :)

Volunteering at the host's the host was a wonderful experience. I enjoyed every second of it. You are quickly fully welcomed into the community. The tasks that have to be done at the host are very doable. You have the entire day to explore the island and at night you'll have plenty of fun meeting all the guests and staff at the host and Tioman in general. I also had the chance to take my rescue course and da couple of fun dives during my stay, making the entire experience even better! Thank you P'gell and Andrey :)

No doubt one of my favourite experiences on Worldpackers. the host is so much fun, you get to meet a great variety of people - including international customers and local legends - and if you are a diver the host is a perfect spot to hone your skills, and learn from the best. Tioman is a beautiful place to call home for a while too. Friends and memories made for life - mantap! 🤙🏼
