The Experience

We are a retreat cum incubation center which is currently in the process of a year-long redevelopment, currently recruiting crew members looking to serve onboard our 'Bootstrap Voyage', which began in early August and lasts until April 2024. We're looking for people with skills or eager to learn around regenerating a chapel physical structure. This might involve wood-working, electrics, deep cleaning, and repairing. The Center has offered a soft place for me to land after a soul remembrance retreat in Ireland. During the five weeks I spent here, I helped cleanse the ship, cook meals for the crew, create art, photography, and sprinkle my sparkle wherever I could. The vision that Liam is devoted to, is the gem of this project. A steady presence that I have been able to witness. He supports the needs of his family, crew, and community. I am so grateful for my experience at the Center. I think that if you are looking for a space that honors a balance between service and self-care, this is for you.

Living in the Center is quite of an experience. The chapel is different from every place i've been to and i enjoyed very much. North wales is beautiful, lots of nature, mountains, hiking trails and even abandoned quarries. Liam is a very down to earth guy, always concerned about your wellbeing and with great ideas. I've met some really nice people there, and the time I helped in the other church in Caernafon was amazing! I definitely recommend this experience.

The Center crew makes you feel welcome; they're all nice and kind. The place is a bit far from everything but surrounded by nature. You can either go for a walk or take a bus to go to the nearest town. Tasks were not difficult but they need more leadership to assign each role and activities for the day. Once you get the rhythm of it, everything becomes easier. There's no heating so bring warm clothes and a positive/proactive attitude.
