The Experience

We are a retreat cum incubation center which is currently in the process of a year-long redevelopment, currently recruiting crew members looking to serve onboard our 'Bootstrap Voyage', which began in early August and lasts until April 2024. We're looking for people with skills or eager to learn around regenerating a chapel physical structure. This might involve wood-working, electrics, deep cleaning, and repairing. Read the Learn More section.

The Center is a great place to connect with your senses, become aware and get to know yourself and your passions. Liam is a great person and has very interesting projects and contribute to the welfare and preserve their culture.

Jazmin was a wonderful volunteer, bringing a perfect balance of creativity and professionalism to every task. Her thoughtful and reflective approach made her a wonderful presence at Astralship, where she truly embraced the opportunity to connect with the space and its mission.

Her passion and dedication to contributing to our projects were evident, and her insights added incredible value.

Living in the Center is quite of an experience. The chapel is different from every place i've been to and i enjoyed very much. North wales is beautiful, lots of nature, mountains, hiking trails and even abandoned quarries. Liam is a very down to earth guy, always concerned about your wellbeing and with great ideas. I've met some really nice people there, and the time I helped in the other church in Caernafon was amazing! I definitely recommend this experience.

The Center crew makes you feel welcome; they're all nice and kind. The place is a bit far from everything but surrounded by nature. You can either go for a walk or take a bus to go to the nearest town. Tasks were not difficult but they need more leadership to assign each role and activities for the day. Once you get the rhythm of it, everything becomes easier. There's no heating so bring warm clothes and a positive/proactive attitude.

The Center is a unique experience! Liam and the rest of the crew are open minded and really nice! They always tried to make me feel comfortable and at home. Their project is interesting and there are always activities to do! The Chapel is a nice place to stay, though Worldpackers need to know it gets cold as it doesn't have central heating, but there are blankets and hot water bottles. You also need to have some cooking skills. The town is small but it has beautiful views and you can go on a walk to nearby towns.
