ARA welcomes every volunteer in the best way possible, trying to improve the wellbeing of their volunteers each and every day. The atmosphere is always friendly, people do their best to help out with everything without putting pressure on anyone. ARA is an amazing shelter for all their animals, they get to go on lots of walks and play in one of the many parks during the day. What I find most fascinating is the fact that „socializing with the animals“ is one of their daily tasks which is exactly what some of them need to experience and get to enjoy in order to get adopted by a loving family.

This was my first stay in ARA and it was amazing. I'm definitely coming back. I feel in love with the dogs (Pako, Guitarra and Gossip) and the cats (Naftalina). The staff is amazing, any doubts or problems you have, for example, tu put a harness on a dog they help you without problem. They do an amazing job at the shelter and they should be proud, the animals there are in good hands. Also, the other volunteers, I had the luck to be with an amazing group, most of who had already been there which made everything so much easier. The weather was not the best but still I had a wonderful time there!

It has been my second time at ARA and again, it was amazing. The staff is super nice, motivated and funny. They care deeply about the dogs and fight for their rights. The other volunteers are always super nice and we did a lot of activities together. The dogs are amazing. They have a dog trainer that teaches you a lot about the animals. You can learn a lot from him about their behaviour and positive training. It is amazing, I will definitely come back 😁

This was my second stay at ARA and it was again absolutely amazing. Working during the shifts doesn't even really feel like work. Everybody (from the staff to the volunteers) is so nice and welcoming and always willing to offer help and support when needed. I made so many great memories and lifelong friends. This is my third time here, and that really says it all – I absolutely love it! Working with the animals is so much fun, and everything is very well-organized. In the mornings, we start with a walk, followed by cleaning the kennels. Then, there's an daily task, like cleaning the bowls. After that, we have a few hours of free time – I often used this to work or focus on my master's thesis. In the afternoon, we bring the dogs back from the park, go for another walk, da second round of cleaning, and then spend time socializing with the dogs.

ARA never fails to go above and beyond. I'm so grateful to have been able to volunteer a second time (and counting)! It also wasn't the first time for the majority of other volunteers I met, which speaks volumes on how much of an imprint this organization has. The animals are treated with the utmost care and the volunteers are always heard. I commend the staff with the dedication and love they put into making sure absolutely every the shelter that enters ARA is well taken care of. I hope to be back soon!
