The experience

We are a social and humanitarian NGO whose aim is to combat the causes of poverty. It's a decentralized movement in which each group roots its activities in the local reality. In Caneças, there are between 15 and 20 of us who live in community following the values of the movement.
Our activities include collecting and sorting donated items, preparing the store, as well as community activities such as cooking, gardening and caring for animals.

What you offer

24 hours of help per week

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Additional fee required

Amount: € 15 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers and Materials for volunteer activities

Description: In case the volunteer wants to stay at the community, contribution is 15€ per day in Caneças, and 10€ per day in Lisbon. It helps us to pay for accomodation, food (only in Caneças), transportation and visits we plan to discover portuguese culture, Lisbon city, and other activities that make sense (tours, contact with other associations, participation to debates...)

2 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.
