My experience in the farm was very pleasant. We were always surrounded by animals and we had a lot of time to enjoy nature and relax. Antonino was very nice and respectful and the food was always amazing ! Just be a aware that if you want to explore other cities it can be difficult as the place is pretty remote and the transports are limited. But if you want to experience peace and enjoy nature this is the place for you.

I had such a great time here surrounded by animals. My day consisted of starting at 08:40, feeding the animals, taking out the goats and collecting donkey shit to be used as fertilizer for the vegetable garden. After that we would do some more work, have a delicious lunch and have siesta for a couple hours, do some more work, spend some time cuddling with the cats, and have a great dinner which contained ingredients out of the garden from time to time. Antonio answered all my questions about his way of living and even taught me self defence which I'm really greatful for. Amazing place!

Overall this experience wasnt for me. I had to cut it short because of family but overall i didnt feel comfortable with this lifestyle or respected with this host. I think this would only fit certain people. Somethings that were promised didnt happen so make sure to ask a lot of questions. His car didnt work at the time so i had to pay extra, the town is about an 1:30 hour walk. Not the experience to choose if you want to go out.

You can't please some people no matter how hard you try. Some come from wealthy backgrounds and want to do some travelling before they go to university, but have never really worked, so when they are confronted with reality, they feel uncomfortable. Jorja is one of them! There are worldpackers who dare to leave their comfort zone to meet new people and have new experiences, but there are also worldpackers who don't want to leave their comfort zone and are not prepared to have new experiences, they won't learn anything new and therefore won't develop any further, but remain trapped in their bubble. I am an olive plantation with a farm outside the city, so the location is idyllic and quiet. I don't have to have a car to drive the people who come here, it's not my job, I'm a 45 minute walk from the city.

Antonio and Ghera were lovely to me from the get go and welcomed me into their house. They have a lot of international campers stay on the property which meant that I could meet lots of people, however they were all from Germany and I don't speak any German which was a shame. It was also a shame that Antonio didn't have a car at the time I stayed, meaning I wasn't able to explore Agira or anywhere around the farm. Overall I am greatful for the experience Antonio allowed me to have, but I personally probably wasn't best suited for the simple farm life!

I had a really good time at the eco village. I really enjoyed my stay and learned a lot about sicily. Antonino is a nice guy, who was always giving his best, so I would feel comfortable and respected. I learned a lot about agriculture and sustainability and had a lot of fun on the way c: Also the near city - Agira- is a wonderful place, really worth visiting. I really enjoyed my stay there 😊
