This experience was a good start for my stay in Nepal. Shiva and his family provided a good living environment, and everyone was friendly and pleasant to communicate with. Shiva's free Kathmandu hiking and professional surrounding tours helped us get to know this city and this beautiful country better. With their help, I went from being someone who didn't know much about outdoor sports such as hiking to liking sports, trying mini hiking, and seeing more natural and magnificent scenery. A highly recommended volunteer activity.

The experience with Shiva and her family was really great. The food and accommodation were great, and they were welcoming and generous. For Shiva, he's very accommodating about the work to be done, and offers plenty of outings to do with him and other tourists to discover Nepal's culture. I also got to da trek with Shiva which was magical. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a volunteering experience, as I think it's the perfect way to live with the locals and discover lots of new things. A big thank you to Shiva and her family for their welcome, which I won't forget!

My time with Shiva's family will be forever in mind. I could imagine a better way to start my trip in Nepal. We had lots of good talks and Shiva explained about local culture and traditions always with patience and enthusiasm., and believe me, I did so many questions 🙈 and he was always interested in making me understand. Above that, Shiva is also very flexible with the job and very open to communication and new ideas. I totally recommend!

I really enjoyed staying with Shiva and his family, it was a really wonderful experience and it really felt like a home. Had sooo much time to explore the local area and they live in a really beautiful local community in the heart of Kathmandu. It's so beautiful being surrounded by the Himalayas. I would really recommend this stay, everyone was so welcoming.

I spend two very nice weeks with Shiva and his family who welcome me in their local house, as the best it was !😊 His wife, Sharmila, was a very good cooker. I learnt a lot about the Nepali cook. His children were also very kind with me. I will miss them all ! Alongside the Free walking tours organized by Shiva in Kathmandu, I discovered also about the culture outside, the different religions existing in the capital, the meditatio. It was very interested, and I recommend you all this experience if you want to live as as local with a sweet family. Thank you Shiva, and I hope see you soon 🙏🏻

Being here in Shiva's House is really cozy you have you propper room. I was warmly welcomed by Shiva and the rest of the family. The atmosphere was friendly and laid-back, making me feel right at home from day one !! I went to few tours with shiva and it was a really great experience and your tasks are not really difficult if you know to do video editing. The accommodation provided was comfortable and clean, and the meals were delicious! I really appreciated the effort Sarmila put into ensuring that volunteers had everything they need. Really peaceful, I will never forget this experience!!

Such a great experience. I came as a volunteer I am leaving as a member of the family. Everyone was so wonderful, I am missing already all the great conversation with Sabinaya , playing with Siddharta , the great cooking of Sharmila...the knowledge of Shiva, he will take you to Kathmandu where the tourists don't go. You are going to live in a nice clean house in a quiet neighborhood, on the 1 st floor there are 2 private bedrooms for the volunteers and a bathroom. The family live on the 2nd floor. It is easy to go to Thamel by bus 30 mn. You will have plenty of free time.

Sylvie stayed two weeks with us. She is an extraordinary person with greatunderstanding and rationality. She is calm, easygoing, and importantly very helpful. She has creativity, dedication and patience for making better work. That’s why she is rare, different and people hardly can find such volunteer. She has become like our family member. We shared happiness, reality, and knowing each other who we are. She managed my weaker parts of social media, profiles, and helped a lot for finding right way for upcoming tasks. We don’t have a word to express our gratefulness. Hope to meet you again and again. Thank you so much Sylvie for everything. With respect 🙏

This place is perfect for someone who would like a comfortable place to stay but also a lot of free time to explore Kathmandu. The family is incredibly warm and welcoming and will help you with anything you need. They feed you and will show you around (free walking tour of Kathmandu). The work does not require much, as it is helping with taking photos & videos as well as leaving good reviews. The place where you will live is 20mins on a bike or car (InDrive app) from the main area in Kathmandu. Overall I felt extremely welcomed as a part of the family and enjoyed my stay immensely :)

I had an amazing Worldpacking experience in Kathmandu, Nepal. I focused on filming and editing the free walking tours and capturing the city's essence. The family I stayed with was incredibly welcoming, making me feel at home instantly. The location is great—just a short walk to the bus stop or a cheap Indrive ride to the city center. The surrounding area offers stunning mountain views and a peaceful village vibe. It's the perfect spot to experience both the vibrant city and beautiful nature. Highly recommend this opportunity
