From we first meet, Lora was enthusiastic, sunny and really fanny! she make you feel home, the place is small and cosy, so there is not a lot to do! Laura will not ask you the word, but simple tasks that she explain really well and multiple times, she's patience and kind. But don't try to fool her, She's not stupid! Her hostel is something special, she love the place like her own home and it has a social purpose! It is in the center of tirana so it's easy to move around and she knows everything about Albania, history, best places to visit and to eat! Best place ever, a paradise! THANKS LORA!

I had an incredible 3 weeks at the hostel, Lora was the best host/boss I could have asked for and looked after me so well! She has a wealth of knowledge of the history and culture of Albania and was so generous in sharing all of that with me. I loved the experience and can't wait to visit again!

When I arrived there were not many guests, hence why I didn't have a lot of work to do. My job was to make the beds and wait for check-ins (which could be very boring). Lora is a nice and easy-going host and she has a cleaning lady who cleans the bathrooms, rooms, common area etc., so I didn't have to do any cleaning :) I was always looking forward to the breakfast! You can easily coordinate with Lora as you can go outside when she's at the hostel and the other way around. In my opinion, Tirana doesn't have a lot to offer and therefore I had explored the city within 3 days.

Lora has a very harsh and assertive way of communicating and likes things done her way. At times, she could also be funny and kind (yes, contradictory). Additionally, many things were quite disorganized, such as check-ins/check-outs and bed linens, and she handled everything alone. While I and another volunteer were there, we managed, but when I was alone, it was overwhelming, too much for one person, and I felt pressured and anxious. She also made several criticisms about "Latina girls," despite knowing I am Latina. I wouldn't recommend this as a volunteer experience.

The hostel is very clean and in a great location. It had a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Lora is very passionate and likes things done a particular way which caused a bit confusion at the start. There is also an expectation to be social and be very involved with guests. As Lora is the only permanent staff member she is often tired and stressed and may take this out on customers and volunteers. I found some comments towards South American guests and volunteers offensive and uncomfortable. I found she treated me a lot nicer than other Brazilian volunteer.
