The Experience

My family and I have a small farm between Dundee and St Andrews. I'm attempting to renovate the old farm buildings and to return the farm to traditional methods, it has been farmed industrially for a long time and it'll take a lot of work to get it back to how it should be. I need help in establishing and maintaining the vegetable garden and with general farm duties maybe some baby care if you wanted it and are capable!

I had the best time ever! Lauren and Rory welcomed me so warm in their family and made my experience unforgettable :) My tasks were quite simple: walk cooper, care about the chickens and play with Robin. I had plenty of free time to explore the surrounding countryside and visit nearby towns. I truly felt part of the family and could experience the real Scottish lifestyle, which I am so thankful for!! 🫶🏻

The farm was a little oasis and allowed me to spend hours of uninterrupted time outside. There is a lot you can learn here if you're willing to and the garden is beautiful! Rory recommended some really great Scottish literature to me during my stay, too. This is a great experience if you're independent, proactive and enjoy quiet spaces:)

We had a wonderful time at the farm ! Rory didn't ask too much work and we had plenty of time to explore around (I would recommend you have a car if you want to visit Scotland). The work consists on walking Cooper, an amazing dog, for about an hour, then taking care of the chicken (and an adorable chick <3) and gardening. The place and the garden are beautiful. Rory had to left for about 2 weeks at the beginning of our stay but we had things to do in his absence, and Lauren was there if we needed something. We were able to take 4 days in a row to da roadtrip in the Highlands ! Thank you!

I had a really good time at the farm. I stayed for 4 weeks. The work was steady and good hours . The area was beautiful, full of fields and little villages , it is a great place to be around nature . Rory and he's family were very welcoming and they do make you feel at home. You are a bit isolated on the farm however there is public transport to take you into town and there is plenty of places to visit from there . The work mainly consists of walking their dog, Cooper but it gives you a good chance to explore the surrounding area and keep fit . Nice place for nature and some peace .

Rory and his family were very accommodating and friendly. All of my needs were always met without any issue and the workload was very manageable. Rory was happy to answer any question I had and did not mind when I could not finish one of the tasks he gave me. You have your own space to live in and have plenty of time to explore Scotland. I especially enjoyed going for walks everyday with their dog Cooper and playing with his son. I enjoyed my time working and helping on the farm. Will have a lot of good memories to look back on.
