The Experience

We need a physical strong person to assist with some of the physical tasks in creating accommodation units and associated infrastructure in a responsible way on available land within our nature reserve. Ideally the person will be able to suggest solutions to construction problems, and be able to either; lay water pipes, do some basic plumbing, electrical work, concrete work, carpentry, drainage, roofing or fencing We are just starting the project

Very nice experience within the reserve, the family is super nice, the work can be physical sometimes but we learn a lot of things!

Hi Abdel, It was our pleasure to be your host.
Thank you for your effort and the great work you did while visiting.
Yes, at the change of the season it is hot, humid with not sufficient rain to cool the area down.
We hope to see you again when you pass via Panama.

I felt welcomed from the start, I got food and time to arrive, which was very nice! Also I felt very well looked after. For example the first day, I worked a lot in the sun and the next day I was stationed somewhere else, because I'm not so used to the sun. The hosts also showed a lot of interest in my well beeing, asking how I was, if I feel good. The work varied a lot, Kobus and Deon made sure that I learned a lot new things, which were teached with a lot of patience and passion. Especially when Kobus told me about the plants and trees on the grounds. I felt so at peace at this place! Thanks

Admiration for this project that the family maintains with great effort and passion to promote respect for the species that have found refuge there, both plants and animals. I am very proud to have contributed a grain of sand to this oasis in the midst of so much deforestation. My most sincere congratulations and best wishes for your contribution to the environment.

Thank you for your effort on the project.
Omar assisted in upgrading our electrical network and expanding our solar installation.
Omar brought his skills and took pride in his work. He made a huge difference and was a pleasure to have on the team.
Omar and Deon spend lots of hours in the hot sun on top of the roof and on ladders to get the project done.
We hope to see Omar again as a visitor to enjoy the fruits of his labor.
Much appreciated Omar!

Kobus, Dion & Heather were really welcoming. The food was really thoughtful and was a highlight of the experience. We also really enjoyed the fresh mangoes from the trees and trying new fruits from the different trees. I really enjoyed our nature/project walks and felt like I learnt a lot. They were really keen to share information and it was really interesting. The tasks were physical, but varied so nothing was too challenging! We also got regular snack and water breaks. The working hours were fair and exploring Santa Catalina/Coiba on our days off were another highlight! Thank you!
