I had an amazing stay at the hostel in Beitou. Everyone of the staff was so friendly and interested in getting to know you resulting in lots of interesting chats after work. Working times are easy and working with the other volunteers was always fun! :) (usually you will be two volunteers + one staff) Highly recommend this volunteering position!

I had a great time at OMW! The work is straightforward and only takes 2-3 hours. The regular staff is really great and I had an awesome time with both them and the other volunteers. Beitou is a lovely place to have as a base in Taipei, with both hot springs and a night market close by. The hostel itself is clean and lovely to stay at. I wish I could have stayed longer!

I fell in love with Beitou and OMW team. They'll be missed a lot. All the regualr staff (Mia, Sunny, Penguin, Eason, Cher, Cindy) and other fellow volunteers (Emma, Juli, Aurelien, and Lena) were amazing to work with. I really felt like home. We always ate or explored together after work. The work took max 3 hours starting at noon. The hostel is a 5 story + basement building, but you work as a team so it gets easier once you get used to it. The neighbourhood is perfect to blend into the local life yet very accessible to the main part of city and natures. I hope I can come back soon! 🥹🫶

I had a great time at OMW Taipei! Everyone is super nice there, I've made good friends, both among the other volunteers and among the staff. Work is done in 2 to 3 hours, which leaves plenty of time to do other stuff. It's also a cool place to practice Mandarin. The hostel itself is quite chill, clean, with nice common areas to hang out. And the neighborhood is also very nice, with many small restaurants and street food around, hot springs and tea shops. I can see only positive points about this place, for 6 weeks I have felt at home, I'm grateful for this and I can't wait to come back to OMW!

Tucked away into a really chill part of Taipei, Beitou is a good environment to hang out, explore and develop an addiction to a local bubble tea shop. I had a memorable time at the hostel which was all due to the inviting nature of Sunny and the team! Easy and straightforward housekeeping tasks that we finished in no time at all.

I had an amazing time staying at the hostel! The staff was communicative and helpful when we were working. A regular shift was 2-3 hours per day, the cleaning and house keeping tasks were pretty simple. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well cooled. The common areas were nice with many places to work, eat, or nap. The hostel is only a 3min walk away from the Beitou Station which is on the Red Line that is the most well connected in Taipei! Beitou itself has really good authentic local food, nice hot springs, and is nearby Yangmingshan National Park. If you're staying in Taipei go to OMW!

Sunny and the other staff were so welcoming and generous! They gave us a welcome dinner, brought local snacks for us to try, and gave recommendations for things to do around the city. The owner would also drop by and make it a point to say hi to you and get to know you. The work was easy, about 2 hours max. The length of the work day depends on how many beds there are, and it also helps that they emphasize teamwork here (typically one person will do beds while the other does bathroom but once you finish your tasks you help the other person out). Would recommend! And beitou is a great place :)

Volunteering at "the hostel" Hostel in Taipei was a fantastic experience. The work was light—just 2-3 hours of housekeeping daily—leaving plenty of time to explore and enjoy the city. The hostel's social atmosphere was a highlight, with opportunities to connect with other travelers and volunteers. Sunny and the team were incredibly welcoming, organising fun parties and fostering a great community. I loved the cultural exchange, cooking Indian food and learning their bubble tea and moon cake recipes. The staff were exceptionally kind and accommodating, making us feel truly at home. Thank you
