Being in the Center was really amazing! I had the opportunity to learn about Buddhism, to have friendships with local people and from other countries. I was very well received and they had patience with me because of my English. I loved working at the cafe and having the chance to learn to meditate. I'll definitely be back. Thank you for everything!!!

My days at the Center was just amazing! The temple is surrounded by a beautiful and peaceful nature, and the people are ALWAYS looking after you. The work for me was the cafe and it was just perfect, all my colleagues and the clients were awesome to work with. I'm gonna miss this place A LOT and I really hope to come back some day. I have nothing but “thank you” to say about this experience.

Truly had an unforgettable, special time here at Mayhamaka. Everyone was so kind and helpful. I pretty much volunteered at the cafe the whole time I was there and for me it was a fun experience! Learned some new things and interacted with really nice people. The hours were respected and meals were really nice. The property is so magical my daily walks for my favorite because the views are incredible, you get to really connect with nature here. Nearest town is 30 min walking and it's honestly a nice walk so didnt mind that at all! Absolutely recommend volunteering here :)

I had an incredible and very beautiful experience. The place is perfect, the people are amazing, and the tasks are easy-going. Working in the café was also a very enriching experience. I felt at peace and comfortable from the very first moment. I also had my first approach to Buddhism, where you can join prayers and classes if you wish. I highly recommend this place, I would go back a thousand times! Thank you for everything!!

It was a truly wonderful experience coming to stay at the Center. Helen was wonderful and eager to make your stay as comfortable as possible, the work was very well organised and it was clear what was expected. It was a delight to have two meals cooked for you a day and the place itself is in such a peaceful nature filled land. It was awesome to also have access to the classes and their library for free during my stay. Just an all round great World Packers experience.

My volunteering experience has been unforgettable and deeply enriching. From day one, I felt warmly welcomed into an international community, sharing teamwork and meaningful social projects. I enjoyed every the Center class and teaching, and having a private session with Gen-la in Spanish was an incredible gift. The gardens, lake, buildings, and delicious vegetarian/vegan food made everything perfect. The team kindly helped me with transfers on arrival and departure. I leave full of gratitude, with lessons and memories that will stay with me, and a strong desire to return one day.

I had a truly enriching experience here. The work was as described and included a variety of tasks such as gardening, helping in the café, cooking, and baking. Helen was a great host—she made sure I was comfortable with each role and regularly checked in. The atmosphere here is warm and community-focused. I really appreciated the opportunity to drop into the Center classes, and the environment itself is peaceful, safe, and impeccably clean—ideal for reflection and personal growth. Overall, this was a meaningful and balanced volunteer experience and I would highly recommend it to others.

Volunteering here had been a truly wonderful experience for me. Beyond words. the Center itself is a serene haven. Being immersed in such a peaceful environment allowed me to reconnect with myself on a deeper level. The tasks given are not hard and the delegation is clear & well-organised. On days off there are plenty of beautiful places nearby to explore. The host Helen & other volunteers are super nice and welcoming. I met many fascinating people here from diverse backgrounds, each of whom taught be valuable and life-changing lessons.
