My two weeks at the the Center in Kilnwick Percy Hall went far beyond my expectations. Everyone is very kind and makes us feel welcome. The work is exactly as expected, everyone responsible for the work areas gives us clear instructions and helps us learn what is necessary. I was able to train and improve my English, I met people from several other countries and I had excellent conversations with residents and other volunteers that filled me with happiness.

I felt I found a haven in the midst of a huge storm, the amount of love and compromise that everyone puts into the center is incredible and allows you to grow in your own way and get closer to Buddhism in a unique form. The main building, the grounds, the cafe, the surrounding area and the people you can learn a lot everywhere if you want so.

I really had an incredible time since Monica welcomed me, a great person with her, I learned a lot since I arrived, nice people to live with, phachog, thank you very much for everything, George, Dave, Naz, Yeit, Isabel, Mark and of course I'm missing many but without a doubt the best team, the best people, I would definitely return to you, you are a great family. Special greeting to Grandmaster Genla. All cooks are amazing, so never stop being that amazing.

Vladimir is a warm and friendly person who was lovely to have in Madhyamaka for 5 weeks. He always completed all his tasks but also went above and beyond in his duties, always with a pleasant smile. It would be a pleasure to have Vladimir again as part of our team in the future!

A fantastic place with incredible people, it was mine 5 the Center.. I love helping at Grounds and at the cafe, you meet cool people every day. On your days off, you can visit nearby cityes. I recommend it to everyone. I'll be back in the next few years. 🙏🏻

Anderson stayed with us for 6 weeks working in the grounds, in the Cafe and occasionaly in the kitchen as well. Anderson is a very good person with a very pleasant personality who always did everything he was asked. Thank you Anderson!

I had an incredible experience at the the Center! The place is amazing, the amenities for volunteers are great and I ate really well here. I had the opportunity to live and learn more about the local culture and learn/train my English during this experience. I was also able to connect more with myself and participate in meditations, this was very important for me! The work is relaxed and there is a very good turnover so everyone learns a little bit of everything! Thank you the Center team who welcomed us so well, I recommend this experience to everyone!

It was simply wonderful to have Evelyn volunteering with us. She is fun to be around, attentive, very independent and always willing to help out. She worked in the Cafe, in the grounds, in the kitchen.. and her cleaning is amazing. Thanks a lot for all the hard work you've done Evelyn!

I had a great time volunteering at the the Center. The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming, thanks to the nuns, monks, and fellow volunteers I had the pleasure of meeting. Being a vegan, I appreciated the delicious and diverse food options available. The tasks were very straightforward and easy to learn. The only downside could be the location, which meant the 20 minute walk to town sometimes wasn't enjoyable in the dark or rain.

We were very happy to have Brian volunteering with us. He was very versatil, always available, very good in the Cafe and very kind with the customers. He did an amazing job in the grounds and kitchen as well. We would have loved for him to have stayed longer.

Minha experiência no centro foi incrível. Desde o 1o momento que cheguei me senti muito acolhida e respeitada. Todos eram muito generosos, sorridentes e se preocupavam genuinamente com o bem estar da comunidade. O trabalho no café era super dinâmico, conheci pessoas maravilhosas que levarei para vida além de ter tido a oportunidade de aprender e me aprofundar nos ensinamentos budistas.

Fue una experiencia hermosa, no tengo absolutamente nada malo para decir. El entorno es lindo y tranquilo, al igual que la vida que se vive dentro del centro. Me voy con una sensación de inmensa gratitud y muy feliz de haber vivo esta experiencia en un centro budista.

Esperienza fantastica. Helen,la coordinatrice, è venuta incontro alle mie esigenze, venendomi anchge a prendere a Pocklinton il primo e l'ultimo giorno. La comunità in cui si vive è simpatica e alla mano, nessuno vuene lasciato da solo, malgrado il gap linguistico. Unico punto su cui mi sento di dover avvisare chi visiterà il centro, è la distanza a piedi da Pocklington (40 minuti a piedi) che divrai percorrere nei day-off se vuoi visitare nuovi posti. Esperienza comunque molto positiva e piacevole!

La experiencia en el centro fue muy linda! . Fui en invierno y el paisaje era hermoso. Helen me recibió y me acompaño de una manera muy amable, estoy muy agradecida por la experiencia en general pero en especial por toda su ayuda. Hacía frío afuera pero en la casa había buena temperatura. Las comidas geniales. La habitación muy cómoda. Es un buen lugar para disfrutar de un tiempo de tranquilidad. El trabajo es muy ameno, las tareas son simples, y te explican y enseñan lo que tenés que hacer con mucha paciencia. Fue mi primer experiencia como voluntaria y recomiendo!
