Fue una maravillosa experiencia! El lugar es hermoso, la casa es muy grande, limpia y cómoda, tiene lindas vistas de los campos, la naturaleza alrededor, tiene un lago cerca con cisnes, es un lugar que transmite paz por donde lo mires. Las personas son muy cálidas, simpáticas y amables. El trabajo en el Café es entretenido, hay días más intensos que otros, pero tienes luego la tarde para descansar y distraerte. Valoro mucho poder participar de las clases de meditación y las sesiones de retiro y oración. Es un lugar acogedor, repetiría la experiencia.

Es un lugar extraordinario!. Me llevé muchas enseñanzas para poner en practica. Las instalaciones son muy cómodas. Las tareas son bastante simples con indicaciones claras y el horario está muy bien. Todo el equipo es muy querido, muy amigables, pacientes y te ayudan mucho. Helen siempre está pendiente cualquier cosa que necesites. Fuera de tus tareas tienes oportunidad de asistir a las actividades del Centro y en tus días off puedes hacer hikes cerca o visitar otros sitios como Beverley, York, Withby, etc. A mi me gustaba salir a correr al pueblo más cercano Pocklington (menos de 2km ;)

Fue una experiencia hermosa, no tengo absolutamente nada malo para decir. El entorno es lindo y tranquilo, al igual que la vida que se vive dentro del centro. Me voy con una sensación de inmensa gratitud y muy feliz de haber vivo esta experiencia en un centro budista.

La experiencia en el centro fue muy linda! . Fui en invierno y el paisaje era hermoso. Helen me recibió y me acompaño de una manera muy amable, estoy muy agradecida por la experiencia en general pero en especial por toda su ayuda. Hacía frío afuera pero en la casa había buena temperatura. Las comidas geniales. La habitación muy cómoda. Es un buen lugar para disfrutar de un tiempo de tranquilidad. El trabajo es muy ameno, las tareas son simples, y te explican y enseñan lo que tenés que hacer con mucha paciencia. Fue mi primer experiencia como voluntaria y recomiendo!

Estar en este lugar de voluntaria ha sido una experiencia maravillosa y enriquecedora para mi persona, sin duda 100% recomiendo este lugar. Las personas son muy amables, el lugar es increíble, se transmite mucha paz y las comidas son deliciosas. Todo está muy bien organizado, tus horas son respetadas, existe mucha comunicación y el trabajo es sencillo, tienes toda la tarde libre y puedes andar en bicicleta, salir a caminar, ir al pueblo caminando o incluso ir a un gimnasio a 15 minutos caminando del centro. Estoy infinitamente agradecida que me han hecho sentir en un hogar.

Being in the Center was really amazing! I had the opportunity to learn about Buddhism, to have friendships with local people and from other countries. I was very well received and they had patience with me because of my English. I loved working at the cafe and having the chance to learn to meditate. I'll definitely be back. Thank you for everything!!!

My days at the Center was just amazing! The temple is surrounded by a beautiful and peaceful nature, and the people are ALWAYS looking after you. The work for me was the cafe and it was just perfect, all my colleagues and the clients were awesome to work with. I'm gonna miss this place A LOT and I really hope to come back some day. I have nothing but “thank you” to say about this experience.

Truly had an unforgettable, special time here at Mayhamaka. Everyone was so kind and helpful. I pretty much volunteered at the cafe the whole time I was there and for me it was a fun experience! Learned some new things and interacted with really nice people. The hours were respected and meals were really nice. The property is so magical my daily walks for my favorite because the views are incredible, you get to really connect with nature here. Nearest town is 30 min walking and it's honestly a nice walk so didnt mind that at all! Absolutely recommend volunteering here :)

I had an incredible and very beautiful experience. The place is perfect, the people are amazing, and the tasks are easy-going. Working in the café was also a very enriching experience. I felt at peace and comfortable from the very first moment. I also had my first approach to Buddhism, where you can join prayers and classes if you wish. I highly recommend this place, I would go back a thousand times! Thank you for everything!!

It was a truly wonderful experience coming to stay at the Center. Helen was wonderful and eager to make your stay as comfortable as possible, the work was very well organised and it was clear what was expected. It was a delight to have two meals cooked for you a day and the place itself is in such a peaceful nature filled land. It was awesome to also have access to the classes and their library for free during my stay. Just an all round great World Packers experience.
