The Experience

Hello and welcome to our 400 year old home in a quiet village in SW England. We invite you to help us in our organic vegetable and flower garden, or decorating, dog walking and keeping the house clean and tidy. We have enjoyed hosting volunteers from around the world for 5 years on different platforms and love to learn about their journey and culture. I was a TEFL teacher and can help you improve your English.

My stay at the home was simply lovely. It's a beautiful place where you'll immediately feel at home. I was able to connect with myself amidst the surrounding landscapes. Susan, Richard and Imo are kind, polite and friendly that my entire experience felt cozy and welcoming. The work is good; we took care of the garden, and I learned a great deal from it. I've improved my English with every dinner; Django, Barney & Poppy were the extra gift. Caring for them was a joy. Martock and Yeovil are close by so you can go for a cycling ride, super recommend. Thank you for the full experience ✨️

Carla, it was amazing to have you here! We really enjoyed your company and all the help you gave us in the garden, the house and painting with expert care and attention! We are super grateful that you were able to be here while we went on holiday. Barney and Django enjoyed their walks and Poppy was content with your company!
We hope to stay in touch, enjoy your new adventures 😊

Richard and Suzie were very attentive, always willing to teach us, and always asked if we were okay. We also miss Imogen. Barney, Django, and Pop are very kind. It was a truly incredible experience and the place was very comfortable. The house and garden are like movie sets.

The experience with Sue, Richard, Imo, Django, Barney, and Pop was the best we could have had. They're an incredible family, and we already miss them all 🥹. It was a perfect two months in this large, comfortable house, and every day we felt like family. Work was like fun every day; it was truly special to contribute to this volunteer work. We hope to welcome them into our home 🇧🇷 one day to repay the kindness they showed us. Thank you for every moment and thank you for your patience with my bad English ☺️ I highly recommend these hosts 🥰🌷.

I'm in love with this family. I felt very welcomed and comfortable. At all times, Su and Richard were concerned about making us comfortable. The experience is great, it was a pleasure to help renovate the house. I hope I can come back again one day. Thank you Su and Richard

Our experience with Sue and Richard was incredible. They are understanding, welcoming and friendly people. Our coexistence was completely harmonious and we had clear communication from the first day. We had a lovely time with the kitten Poppy. Our room was comfortable and warm. The kitchen was well equipped and plentiful. There, we work with painting, maintenance, cleaning, gardening and tree pruning. Oh, and besides that, we also had a great time walking around the area with the smart and adorable dogs Django and Barney.
