Volunteers contribute $240 per week to cover meals, cost of materials and gasoline for river animals patrols.

The Experience
Live the real pura vida lifestyle, disconnect, relax and have fun! Come and join us for an unforgettable experience, the only requirement is adventurous blood! During your time here you'll be doing a variety of things, for example gardening, working on art projects, building with bamboo, cleaning the beach, helping out the locals with their daily works meanwhile living in the jungle next to the ocean!

I had a great time at the host! The location is beautiful and I had lots of time to explore the beach and see the animals that live on the island. The staff Barbara, Alex and Minor were friendly and made me feel at home. If you like animals and the beach I recommend this experience!

If you're looking for somewhere to disconnect from your world, this is definitely the place to go! the hosts were friendly and welcoming and made sure they did what they could to make everyone feel comfortable! i was able to practice my spanish, disconnect from my phone, and truly have a great time!

This was an amazing experience. The entire staff are the most welcoming and wonderful people. They made everything incredibly meaningful. I would love a chance to come back and do this program again. There is meaningful work, but also lots of time to rest and enjoy nature. I also have a greater appreciation for the little things. THEY ALSO HAVE THE BEST DOGS!!!

I spent an amazing week with 2 of my friends here! All of the staff were such kind and wonderful people and I miss them already. The work was enjoyable and we had a great time taking a break from our regular lives. Considering the remote setting, amenities were definitely reasonable and the hosts were always committed to help us make our stay comfortable. Be prepared for physical activity (especially if you go on turtle patrols.) The setting was beautiful and it was incredible to see so many animals like sea turtles, monkeys, sloths and more in their natural habitat! Thank you so much!

I had SUCH. A great time! I was only here a week but the staff felt like family by the end of my stay. Definitely be prepared to live on the rustic side, and also anticipate a good amount of physical activity. However, the people and the place are so lovely and so it makes it very easy to embrace the experience! Definitely get the Kolbi Sim if you want data on the island and bring mosquito repellent! Genuinely such a unique experience that I will keep with me forever! Live to all the staff (and dogs) that made it possible!
