The Experience

My name is Thierry, I am the new owner of a beautiful property that I intend to turn into a guest house in the South West of France. It is surrounded by a very large garden with many plants and fruit trees, as well as a swimming pool. The house is located between the beautiful villages of Cordes-sur-Ciel, Bruniquel and Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val and close to Vaour, where a music festival takes place every August.

I stayed for a month and had a wonderful experience. Thierry is an incredibly generous host, friendly and good natured. His home feels out of a fairy tale, although it's worth noting that the property is very secluded. He makes regular trips for groceries / events but do be prepared to be fairly rural. The work is difficult but straightforward and interesting, he is incredibly knowledgeable and I learned a lot during my stay. He can be somewhat pedantic so communication important, if you don't understand, just ask! Helpers hours are regular and he provides three wonderful meals daily.

I had an incredible experience, I spent around 15 days there, they were fun days. Thierry showed me great places and parties amidst very beautiful mountain scenery. Another very positive point is the music, which was always present, creating a consistently cheerful atmosphere. I was able to really enjoy both the property and its surroundings. I highly recommend it to other travelers who are looking to connect with the local community, have fun, discover beautiful places, and eat well. (:

My stay at Thierry's chambre d'hôtes was a very positive experience. A healthy atmosphere of coexistence was created, with respect for schedules and excellent food. Different activities took place inside and outside the house depending on the weather, making each day unique. On weekends, we often went to parties or local events, which was a great way to connect with the local culture. Thierry appreciates initiative, so it's important to be proactive, observant, and take action. Overall, it's an authentic and enriching experience. I will miss Willow (Thierry Dog).

The experience was wonderful! Thierry is a great host and made me feel very welcomed into his house and also his town. The property has a distinct beautifulness, fully emerged into nature. On the exterior part, there is a big garden with a vast variety of trees, plants and animals. On the interior part, the house feels like a little art museum. From the music collection to the paintings/drawings on the walls or even the furniture, everything is eye appealing and has a little story attached to it. The tasks are fairly simple and just require communication effort from both sides.

I stayed with Thierry for two weeks and had a wonderful time. The place is surrounded by nature, peaceful and perfect to disconnect. I helped with gardening, cleaning, and small tasks. Thierry is a great host and cook, always kind and respectful. We had interesting conversations and I felt at home from day one. His dog Willow is adorable and playful. It was my first volunteering and I'm very grateful for this beautiful experience! Merci, Thierry! ☺️
