The experience

For our ecofarm we are looking for a real handyman or -woman who can help with repairs and maintenance around the house, the stable and the vegetable garden. We are looking for someone who can works independently and enjoys walking around with a toolbox, drill and brush. Seniors are very welcome. Come and visit the beaches and villages around Monchique en join us to gatherings in our lovely mountain community.

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Painting & Decorating: Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Pick Up: We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely

Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely

Requirements

Intermediate English or Fluent Dutch

Between 25 and 65 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

We are looking for an allround handyman who can work independently. Do you want to spend the winter in sunny Portugal this year and experience farm life in the mountains of the Algarve for a while? For our permaculture farm we are looking for someone to help us with all the chores around the house, the goat stable and the garden. Are you someone who can generate their own energy and work independently and proactively? Then you will be welcomed with open arms on our farm and in the warm community of like-minded people in the mountains of Monchique

Activities & Shift

There will be many small jobs such as sawing wood for the stove, painting a wall, various small and larger repairs and maintenance around the house, stable, chicken coop and garden. You are expected to be able to work independently. Working hours are then negotiable.
