First time volunteering in a hostel, stayed 40 days and loved every single one! I really recommend this experience, Tamsui is a gem (you'll never run out of day trips/half day trips/activities in the area), the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, workload is lighter than expected and work hours are mainly going to be 2/3 a day (worked 5 hours only 3 times during my stay, a couple of times it took less than 2h). It's truly a valuable opportunity and I'm grateful to Carrie, Sunny, Peggy, Yun, Sandy and all the volunteers I shared this time with. Oh and you'll get 80nt x per work day

Carrie & the team at the hostel were really great and so much fun. The hours are not long usually, and the work is not too hard either. All you need to know how to do is clean and make beds! This was a great opportunity to explore the northern coast of Taiwan as well as quieter city living compared to the hostel central. It was a pleasure getting to know Tamsui and meeting other volunteers!

We loved it so much that we decided to come for a second time! We really enjoyed it so much here. Also it was really nice, that we as a couple had the same schedule whenever possible! Thanks to everyone for this amazing experience!

An amazing experience ! The staff is wonderful, very careful of their volunteers and I had amazing times with them! I will miss you guys ! The work is very easy, starts at 10 and can finish before 12. The hostel is clean and perfect for volunteer, nothing to say. Very well located with the lively riverside and the night market near the MRT station. You can still go to the hostel in less than 45min Definitely recommend you to rent a bike and go for a day biking on path n1. Another positive point : volunteer are paid :)(80NTD working day)

We had an incredible time here in Tamsui! We cannot thank everyone enough for making us feel so welcome. The tasks for volunteers are clearly explained and easy to follow. We always started at 10am and cleaned the rooms and bathrooms. Once this is done we were off and could do whatever we wanted. Depending on the number of beds and volunteers it takes about 1.5-3 hours during the week and 3-4 hours on weekends. The kitchen offers a toaster, a coffee machine, a microwave, a fridge and plates, bowls, cups, so that was very convenient. The place is also surrounded with many good restaurants!

It has been a brilliant experience and I had a wonderful time volunteering at the hostel Travellers. The tasks were clearly explained, which included basic housekeeping and cleaning skills. Every work day starts at the same time. You would get most of the afternoon off as well as evenings. Danshui is a very beautiful and scenic part of the hostel which is very lively during the day and night (night markets). Most of all, the staff and other volunteers made this an amazing stay with their hospitality and friendliness - absolutely recommend!

This was my first volunteering experience. I really enjoyed being with the team and the other volunteers. Thanks to them it felt a bit like home. I stayed a month there and it was sometimes puzzling to observe the behavior of some guests. And I didn't expect having such a difference in the number of guests between week and weekend. In general, my stay there was good and the team really helpful. I'll keep in touch with them!

I rated 3 stars because the management kicked out two of my fellow volunteers on very short notice and without warning. They said my friends were not working hard enough, talking too much and being on their phones, however they completed all their tasks with time to spare, same as everyone else. Additionally, during the start of a new month they didn't give us the new schedule until the last day of the month. However, most of the staff is nice, tasks were straightforward and work didn't take much time, facilities were good with free laundry.

Celeste was doing fine wz us. She was responsible n work. We re actually impressed by how she was not influenced by her 2 fellow who often found sit on the bed using phone n chat while others r still working n work is still need to be done. One of them even no show on workday….unfortunately, we had to end up wz them earlier as it would not be fair to those who put in effort n could cause others workload heavier as everyone is count. Celeste didn’t follow their work behaviors as it’s not easy to stand firm. It's always important to able recognize what good or bad for u. Thank u Cele for help.

While my stay started off good, we sometimes had 3 days off at a time, it was clean and organized, and I met a good friend there as it ended up me and this friend got kicked out early only 2 weeks into our stay with no warning or communication on how we could do better. The manger said our work was good but the owner whom I never met did not like how me and this friend talked and laughed together during working hours. Causing them to tell us to leave the next morning when it was 7pm at night. We were able to negotiate us staying one more day because of how unfair it was to us.
