One of the reasons why I LOVE Taiwan is because my experience in Tamsui. In general, people are so nice and the job in this hostal didn't make my life complicated. I was happy to be around those other volunteers that I can call now my friends and Ping, Peggy, Yun and the rest of the workers. I had so much fun so I would never change the place of my first Worldpackers volunteering! I've been 45 days in this country and one month was in this hostel but never felt like too much, the opposite. I'll miss playing Mahjong :') And If you have any doubt you can contact me!!

This was a great experience. Tasks and workload is very straight forward and fair. The staff are cool and welcoming people, I will miss them very very much. Thank you Carrie, Ping, Peggy, Yun and Kevin!!! The location is a nice spot near the water. During weekdays it's a chill and calm, during weekends it's very busy so you get a goodmix of both. If you you want to go to the beach and explore the coast on a bike it's a very nice spot and Tamsui has amazing sunsets. I enjoyed it so much I extended my stay.

This is a wonderful place for people who want to experience Taiwan. You are close enough to the hostel to do everything in the city but just far away enough to not have to live the big city life. The staff are super friendly and are very helpful. The work isn't difficult and you have a lot of free time to explore not just the hostel but Taiwan itself. I definitely recommend this place if you want to experience Taiwan, practice Chinese, meet new people and eat good local/the hostel food.

I really enjoyed my time in Tamsui and being able to explore other parts of Taiwan! All of the staff members were super nice and welcoming by giving me several recommendations and hosting some events for the volunteers (eating out for dinner, playing mahjong, etc.), and I enjoyed trying to practice speaking Chinese with them. The work was simple (mostly consists of making beds and cleaning the rooms and bathrooms), and most days were only around 3 hours of work based on how many people checked out and how many volunteers were assigned that day.

Thanks again for the wonderful time. It was a pleasure to get in touch with a different culture and people. Everybody who is/was working there was really helpful and nice and if i had some questions i was always able to ask them and they would help me. First time beeing outside of Europe and it helped me to get to know myself even better. I higly recommend this place, especially if you like big cities to got to, but still be able to get into more quieter and rural areas (and of course if u like to try a lot of food). Thanks again and i will never forget this time :)

This was my first experience with Worldpackers and volunteering at a hostel. Initially, I felt nervous and uncertain about what to expect. However, as I settled in during the first week and became more comfortable with the workflow, I found myself truly enjoying my time in Tamsui. As my departure day drew nearer, I felt a sense of sadness. I feel incredibly grateful and would like to thank Carrie, Peggy, Yun, and Sunny for this incredible opportunity. Overall, I highly recommend this place for those who are serious about housekeeping and enjoy the outdoors.

I really enjoyed my time at the hostel, Tamsui is an amazing place to stay at, and everyone in the hostel is super nice! The work is fairly easy and doesn't take a lot of time. I will definitely recommend staying here :)

First time volunteering in a hostel, stayed 40 days and loved every single one! I really recommend this experience, Tamsui is a gem (you'll never run out of day trips/half day trips/activities in the area), the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, workload is lighter than expected and work hours are mainly going to be 2/3 a day (worked 5 hours only 3 times during my stay, a couple of times it took less than 2h). It's truly a valuable opportunity and I'm grateful to Carrie, Sunny, Peggy, Yun, Sandy and all the volunteers I shared this time with. Oh and you'll get 80nt x per work day

Carrie & the team at the hostel were really great and so much fun. The hours are not long usually, and the work is not too hard either. All you need to know how to do is clean and make beds! This was a great opportunity to explore the northern coast of Taiwan as well as quieter city living compared to the hostel central. It was a pleasure getting to know Tamsui and meeting other volunteers!
