It has been a brilliant experience and I had a wonderful time volunteering at the hostel Travellers. The tasks were clearly explained, which included basic housekeeping and cleaning skills. Every work day starts at the same time. You would get most of the afternoon off as well as evenings. Danshui is a very beautiful and scenic part of the hostel which is very lively during the day and night (night markets). Most of all, the staff and other volunteers made this an amazing stay with their hospitality and friendliness - absolutely recommend!

This was my first volunteering experience. I really enjoyed being with the team and the other volunteers. Thanks to them it felt a bit like home. I stayed a month there and it was sometimes puzzling to observe the behavior of some guests. And I didn't expect having such a difference in the number of guests between week and weekend. In general, my stay there was good and the team really helpful. I'll keep in touch with them!

I rated 3 stars because the management kicked out two of my fellow volunteers on very short notice and without warning. They said my friends were not working hard enough, talking too much and being on their phones, however they completed all their tasks with time to spare, same as everyone else. Additionally, during the start of a new month they didn't give us the new schedule until the last day of the month. However, most of the staff is nice, tasks were straightforward and work didn't take much time, facilities were good with free laundry.

Celeste was doing fine wz us. She was responsible n work. We re actually impressed by how she was not influenced by her 2 fellow who often found sit on the bed using phone n chat while others r still working n work is still need to be done. One of them even no show on workday….unfortunately, we had to end up wz them earlier as it would not be fair to those who put in effort n could cause others workload heavier as everyone is count. Celeste didn’t follow their work behaviors as it’s not easy to stand firm. It's always important to able recognize what good or bad for u. Thank u Cele for help.

While my stay started off good, we sometimes had 3 days off at a time, it was clean and organized, and I met a good friend there as it ended up me and this friend got kicked out early only 2 weeks into our stay with no warning or communication on how we could do better. The manger said our work was good but the owner whom I never met did not like how me and this friend talked and laughed together during working hours. Causing them to tell us to leave the next morning when it was 7pm at night. We were able to negotiate us staying one more day because of how unfair it was to us.

Despite positive reviews, I wouldnt recommend staying here. We got no introduction or clear work instructions in the beginning. The tasks were straightforward housekeeping, done in 2-3 hours, but expect hard beds and weak wifi in the rooms. After two weeks, my friend and I were told at 7 pm that we had to leave the next day, allegedly for talking during cleaning, despite completing our work efficiently. This was done without warning or chance to improve nor any communication beforehand. I'm very disappointed in the staff's behavior. If you like making work more fun don't come here.

My experience at the hostel was really good to meet people, from Taïwan and the hostel volunteers. The staff is really friendly and helpful. After a while you feel like you're a part of the team. The working hours are not too long. Tamsui is a nice area to be around with a night market, tea shops and you can watch the sunset nearby the river while people are playing music. The hostel is comfortable, you can chat with people or stay on the quiet floor. I highly recommand this place for volunteering, especially because of the people :)

It was my pleasure to work at the hostel and help them in their daily tasks as a volunteer. If we finished our work early, we would get off and enjoy the rest of our day. Meeting the hostel and volunteers from around the world was a wonderful experience. Comfortable dorms, two days off, and free laundry are great perks. The sunsets in Tamsui are a must-see.

Carrie, Peggy and the rest of the staff are reliable and easy to get along with. Volunteer's responsibilities are taught well and easy to remember. Was able to meet friends as well. The task are not difficult especially if you do household chores. I was able to learn as well how the hostel business operates, how the cleanliness is mentained as well. 14 days is too short, I will definitely go back.

Carrie and all the team of the hostel are very nice and helpful. You will never feel alone and abandoned; you will always find help with the staff and other volunteers. The job is easy and lets you have time to visit places around Tamsui. You will also meet a lot of local people, and this is also an enrichment of this amazing experience. I was at my first worldpacker experience, and I couldn't be more happy to have chosen this place!

We had a great time at the hostel, where we had the opportunity to explore taiwan from a local perspective and get to know more about taiwanese culture. We really enjoyed getting to know this country more and helping this wonderful team to maintain such a beautiful hostel. Thank you.
