We felt very welcome and all the tasks were very clear! The work schedules are specific but not difficult. We had the opportunity to learn new skills from the wonderful Jason and Esther, who are also extremely caring and patient! In fact, by far the best part of this experience was meeting so many incredible people, exchanging experiences, and getting to know people and cultures from all over the world! We recommend this experience to anyone who wants to learn about new cultures, learn about meditation and Buddhism, and experience life for local people in the countryside.

We had a great time at NKMC. We met amazing people, residents, volunteers and retreat guests. We also had the opportunity to participate in meditation sessions. Thornby Hall itself is incredible, surrounded by beautiful nature that really adds to the atmosphere of the place. The work at the café varies from day to day, with busier days and quieter ones. It is real work, but in an good environment and where if everyone is willing to help each other, everything flows very well. Thank you everyone for the experience!

I would like to deeply thank you for the volunteer experience at the World Peace Café. I am grateful to every person I met, from the first contact to the last day of work and stay. Beyond helping me practice English in an environment of peace and positive energy, you welcomed me with such patience that today I feel much more confident to practice my English. I carry fond memories of everyone with me and wholeheartedly recommend this place. Thank you very much, the project Kadampa Meditation Centre, for the opportunity.

From the very first minute, they make you feel welcome; they're incredibly kind and genuinely care about your well-being. The other volunteers are wonderful people who help you understand your responsibilities. The work is straightforward, and the facilities are amazing. I would definitely return.

I loved my time at the centre, especially when I got to work in the World Peace Cafe. The leads at the cafe, Sean and Jason were so patient and trained all the volunteers. Amanda and Sian were very communicative and made work schedules and accommodations super easy and flexible, and were always understanding. Everyone you meet is so genuine and kind. The regulars of the centre and cafe are so friendly and nice to get to know during your time. The grounds are beautiful and great for walks. The key to having a good experience is remaining open minded and compassionate.
