The Experience

- You'll help with cooking tasty vegetarian/vegan meals for the pilgrims, and also for yourself of course :). - You'll help with some cleaning duties and house chores, within the 25 hours/week schedule.

I'm glad I chose this Albergue for my first experience as a worldpacker. Matej is such a dedicated and passionate person, he takes care of every detail to create the best atmosphere for the guests. He's also genuinely interested in sharing knowledge, good food and beautiful hikes with the volunteers. Being able to contribute to the building of his project was very inspiring. The tasks for the volunteers are all manageable and very clearly explained. I had also a lot of free time to enjoy the amazing natural surroundings and the company of the pilgrims. I really hope I'll be back someday.

Matej is a great person with a very beautiful project, it was such a pleasure to be part of it ! He is very organized and willing to help you to discover this beautiful region as much as possible. The schedule and tasks are clear from the begining, and respected. The house is really cosy and makes you feel home right away. I can only recommand this experience with Matej in his Casa de Peregrinos :)

I had a really great time in the hostel with Matej. The tasks were very manageable and the expectations were clear (and reasonable) from the start. I really appreciated the fact that Matej is so well organized, as I'm sure it's not the case with all volunteer positions. I met so many interesting people each night during the communal dinners, that was absolutely the highlight. The setting is idyllic, with both mountains and sea nearby, but it's also quite isolated - something to keep in mind. Overall, I would highly recommend, cool experience!

My experience in the hostel has been overall very good. The location is surrounded by all sort of amazing natural landscapes and the house provides a very nice and cozy environment. The tasks to carry out were easy and I had a lot of free time to dedicate to myself or to explore the region of Asturias. Matej has been a great host - since the very first moment he's been welcoming and always available in case of any problem or necessity. Plus, he knows the area very well and was always ready with a new recommendation any time I felt like exploring the surroundings.
