The Experience

Our place is a project to create a relaxed yet stimulating enviroment for people to learn and enjoy with dogs. Is located in a rural setting 1 hr. from Madrid. Now it's used for small training events/workshops related to dog training. Eventually we like to welcome people travelling with horses to stay overnight with us. You'll help with dog walks, care & education or maintenance. We now have 5 energetic dogs looking forward to share with you.

My experience was really nice. I love it! Samuel and David learned me a lot about the dogs. They are wonderful people and each of the dogs have a different personality that makes you love them instantly. Apart from dog training, I participated in other tasks on the shelter property. I liked it because I learned new things that help you in everyday life. Everything that it was said will be offered to me was true, like the food, my own room, and the free days. In my free time I visited the city of Madrid countless times. So i recommend this experience to everyone!🤍

Mariana fue una Worldpacker excepcional en El Momento. Su dedicación a los perros, compromiso con el aprendizaje y disposición para ayudar incluso en días libres por ejemplo cuando hay alguna urgencia veterinaria, la hicieron parte esencial de nuestro proyecto. Es alegre, respetuosa, organizada y normalmente sigue instrucciones con precisión y seguridad. Su amor por la naturaleza y experiencia en fincas se reflejan en su entrega diaria. Ella dejó huella y será bienvenida siempre en El Momento.

David es amable, pero la experiencia difiere de la descripción. Se anuncian horas, pero las tareas ocupan a lo largo del día dificultando tener tiempo libre o incluso organizar las propias comidas. Es más una casa privada con perros que un refugio de perros. Sugerí mejorar la organización, pero aún falta claridad en los horarios. Los perros son un amor y se aprende mucho, pero si buscas cumplir solo las horas pactadas y tener tiempo personal real, será difícil lograrlo aquí. Ojalá se actualice la descripción para evitar confusiones, tener paciencia y que puedas aprender de los perros Aquí 🩵

Aprendí sobre la vida del perro, caminar con ellos y observarlos en sus procesos, es la mejor parte de este voluntariado. La conciencia ambiental también se incentiva en esta experiencia porque la finca funciona con paneles solares y se tiene mucha precaución en gastar energía, entonces, uno se adapta a la vida de campo. Toca estar flexible con la distribución de tareas dentro de la casa, algunas veces toca cocinar, ayudar a limpiar la casa y demás. Cuando hay más voluntarios, es más clara la división de trabajo y por tanto, más efectivos los resultados.

Elegí la experiencia por los perros y por estar en la zona rural, distinta a lo que estoy acostumbrada, y superó mis expectativas. David me recibió muy bien, ofreciendo gran alojamiento, comida y conocimiento. Compartí la vivencia con Alex y Mar, personas increíbles que la hicieron aún más especial. Los 5 perros son encantadores, bien entrenados y hacen la rutina inolvidable.
