Housekeeping, cleaning and DIY at home in Scopello (Sicily)!

I've been at Marco's father's house for 2 weeks, it was a really nice experience. At first I was supposed to be helping on the boat but the weather was bad so I stayed at house. Emanuele is a wonderful person and cooks amazing food. The house is very comfortable and looks like a farm so it is a little far from the cities but there is beautiful nature around, it's a very good place to relax. The tasks are very easy and fair as I was there during the winter it was just the common maintenance of the house. Thank you for the experience! For other volunteers - text me if you have more questions

I had a really nice time in SerediPa! Ema and Marianna are absolute sweethearts and made me feel very welcome. Ema makes great food and took me on lots of tours to see the surrounding area, which I highly appreciated! When I wanted to I could also go with Marco to explore Palermo. The work itself was mostly self-structured - cleaning everything that needs cleaning and a bit of gardening. The only things that would have improved this is if there were other volunteers to share the experience with or more things (other than the beach) to do on my own.

It's hard to find the words, being in Seredipa's house was beautiful, I felt at home and you are part of the family. Marco is a very nice person and so is Emmanuel, it really feels like family, very comfortable, very fun. The tasks are simple and varied. Some days in the house and other days on the boat. The boat involves more specialty work and restoration. Thank you for everything... the family is a very loving family and each one gives a lot, I feel grateful! Thanks for everything! Marco's family will always have a place in my memories!

So fun! I had a great time at the country house. Emanuele cooks very delicious meals and loves to chat! Tasks are pretty straightforward. Whenever we had some free time, Emanuele would take us on adventures and teach us about the history of places! He loves to make us try local sweets and food. My favourite part was helping out with harvesting the olive trees. If you want to experience that make sure your come during harvesting season! Marco is a fun but busy guy so if you're at the house you might not see him as often, but he tries his best to balance his time. Highly recommend applying!

It was wonderful! I stayed at the house with Emanuele (Marcos dad) who is such a wonderful person. He was cooking everyday and the food was super delicious. Whenever we needed to get somewhere Emanuele would take us and he kept taking us on little day trips after our tasks. The tasks themselves were very easy and could be done fairly quickly so we had most of the day off. Marco is nice as well all though sometimes it's hard to get a hold of him as he's working so much. Overall the experience was wonderful and I'm definitely sad it ended so quick

I had never been on the sea or worked on a sailboat until I did this work trade. I found it easy to hop into the experience and I had the best time. I was able to meet and interact with the locals which made me feel like I was taking away a piece of Italian culture. I learned so much about the area and developed lots of handy skills. Marco was a sweet host and was very patient with me while I learned how to do work I Fr h sailboat. He took showed us around the area and made my time very special. I highly recommend this work trade to people looking for an immersive adventure.

This was my first Worldpackers experience and I seriously couldn't have asked for better. I stayed at the guest house in Scopello with Marco's dad, Emanuele. He was amazing - every morning we woke up to fresh croissants and he cooked us a wonderful lunch and dinner every day. He also took us to so many places so I really feel as though I got to see as much of Sicily as possible in my three weeks. The tasks are super easy and flexible - I am a runner who runs everyday and a student so I was taking online classes and I always felt as though I had time to do both of those things. So so grateful!

I had an amazing experience with Marco and his beautiful sailboat. Working on a sailboat is great fun and very rewarding to see all the tasks come together. I stayed with wonderful volunteers who are now good friends and never felt lonely or uncomfortable because of it. The hours are reasonable, Marco provides great lunch and dinners and kindly showed us around the town. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in true Sicilian culture and befriend a funny and welcoming guy.
