The Experience

We are Sophie & Charles, impassioned by the restauration of the Château de Saint - loup sur Thouet in South Loire Valley. We are looking for some help in differents ways but mainly for the garden between April 15 until September, Sometimes help in the house, or with computer work to make Saint-loup known in many countries. On the basis of volunteering, we wish to welcome volunteers with a Student profile, between two weeks to 1 month on average.

I am incredibly lucky to have experienced this magical the guest house. The hosts Sophie and Charles are the most welcoming and charming people who have dedicated their heart into this the guest house. The work was manageable, ranging from general housekeeping to watering the beautiful plants in the garden. The hours flew by fast when you're also admiring the historical beauty of the gardens and castle. I am truly grateful for this experience and I highly recommend this volunteer experience to anyone who wants to enjoy the peaceful French countryside.

I have no words to describe how enriching and amazing this experience was, it truly feels like a dream living in the castle, it is sooooooo beautiful. Sophie and Charles are the kindest and sweetest people ever, I love them with my entire heart and I'm beyond grateful for being warmly welcomed and treated with such consideration and respect. The workload is fun and very doable and everybody is always so kind and ready to explain you anything. This was by far the best worldpackers I have ever done and I hope to be able to come back soon.

My first volunteering experience and I could not be more grateful for the time spent at the castle, Sophie and Charles-Henri' warmth made me feel welcomed from the very first moment, they are truly amazing people. After my time there I still couldn't believe I was living such an experience, every corner of the castle, every walk through the gardens and surroundings… are beautiful, full of charm. The work is very well balanced and easily done since they are patient explainers and understanding. Two weeks weren't enough in such a wonderful place, I'm hoping to come back one day🌟
