The Experience

We need help preparing meals for our group vacation and retreat guests. We're looking for volunteers who are talented cooks wanting to get experience making veggie/vegan farm-to-table food. Previous experience producing food in a restaurant kitchen or stall would be ideal. Volunteers stay in a purpose-built station, work for 5 hours per day for 6 days, and can use any of the facilities at the property. This is a work exchange!

Overall, it was very enjoyable to volunteer as a kitchen hand at the eco village. The work was rewarding and taught me a lot about cooking for larger groups. The staff was nice to work with and the surrounding area is so beautiful! I recommend this experience to anyone who is curious about vegetarian/vegan cooking, loves nature (especially sea turtles), and/or wants to host retreats in the future :)

The eco village was a rewarding 5 week volunteer experience that Julia & I would highly recommend! We felt deeply connected to nature, while cooking vegetarian/vegan meals for mid-size groups (5–27). Rebe is great to work with, & we learned a lot, with 2 shifts ranging from 3-9 hours per day, averaging ~30 hours per week. We'd recommend it for flexible, proactive people comfortable in fast-paced, higher-stress environments. Rob & Rebe have built an incredible property, and accommodations on it are very nice! They're supportive and fun hosts, though occasionally high-stress during busy weeks.
