Volunteering at Stefs the guest house is a unique experience. There are interesting people coming in and out of the place and I learned a lot about pilgrimage during my stay. the guest house is located in a small village with beautiful nature where you can go on walks. You're expected to work independently and the workload can vary greatly depending on how many volunteers and pilgrims there are. I visited during low-season, so there was less dynamic than there'd usually be. I recommend this experience to people who are interested in pilgrimage and want to spend some time away from the city.

It was a good experience for me overall. I really enjoyed having conversations with pilgrims from different countries and I made lot of friends during my stay. The work is not hard, just small tasks from morning to night. But there is a lack of organization, so it makes really difficult to have a free day. Sometimes I felt like the effort and work that is done from volunteers, is not valued at all. It's just from my experience. But as I said, overall I had good times on the guest house, and I had really unforgettable moments there.

I had a lovely time at the guest house❤️ The home is cozy and perfect if you want a safe haven to rewind. You get to meet people from all over the world and the work isn't difficult. However, I could see the “self-motivated” work being a burden if everyone in the group is not carrying their weight, and with such unpredictable days- having a “day off” isn't really possible. You are needed throughout the day and all hands on deck in the evening. I was really lucky to be surrounded with people who were easy to communicate with and valued the work as much as me.

It was a good experience overall. We enjoyed especially the moments of sharing with the pilgrims. We would have liked to have had the opportunity to learn more about the philosophy of the guest house, and we would have liked to exchange more ideas with the host and the rest of the volunteers. However, we hope that we left something good behind, since it was our purpuse as volunteers, and that we were not a bother, because although we perceived almost no interest and consideration for us, we would like to say thank you. Good luck to the other volunteers!

I had a really good time here. The volunteers were great and Stef is an open and well traveled person. I got the opportunity to paint a mural and was given pretty much free reign to do what I wanted as long as the tone was happy so I highly recommend to other artists:) the guest house is located in a pretty small town so definitely be prepared for that but it's a really beautiful place and you get to meet people from all over the world. Truly a great experience, I highly recommend this experience, especially if you want to meet international travelers!!

Here you never feel like you're working, just taking care of your lovely home. The tasks are very easy and you have plenty of time to explore the local culture and beautiful landscapes in the area. You have the chance to interact with amazing piligrims by having dinner with them. It's incredible how many laughs we had at every meal. The healty food we cooked from the garden was a huge plus. On top of all Stef is an amazing, well traveled and well organized person, it was a pleasure meeting him. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone who's looking for an authentic experience.

I had a fantastic time working at this albergue. Situated alongside El Camino de Santiago, you are sure to meet interesting people from around the entire globe. If you intend to practice your Spanish, there will assuredly be individuals along the way who would be happy to speak with you. Additionally, the host speaks Spanish, alongside 4 other languages, so it's a great place to practice Spanish. Additionally, the guest house is located in a beautiful small village, with fascinating cultural architecture, including the White Church and the Cienfuegos Palace, as well beautiful day hikes. 10/10!

I cannot express how amazing this experience truly was! the guest house instantly felt like home, and the volunteers like family. The pilgrims that would stay were all incredibly interesting, each with a different nationality and story. The work load was more than fair, and honestly it didn't even feel like work. I highly reccommend this experience to anyone who is looking to explore the gem that is norther Spain!

Forever grateful of Stef's generosity & hospitality. There should be more places like this. It's good to feel of service for the pilgrims of the Camino de Santiago (Way of Saint James.) I have loved to share stories, conversations, life experiences, songs with the pilgrims and I have loved to cook partly from the garden where veggies grow so fast ! You feel like home, this place attracts very cool volunteers too, some painted iconic murals and there is still room for more ! I've stayed 4 weeks and this was perfect for me to have a solid break and rest ! I shall come back by walking the camino!

I loved my stay here! I stayed with Stef for 10 days. He was very helpful, driving us to the bus station and helping us travel around. Our first day he gave us a tour of the town and explained some of our tasks. The work was not difficult. Mainly laundry for the pilgrims beds and cleaning/cooking. There is an amazing garden we ate from everyday. Every night the volunteers sat and played music together. This was my first experience with World Packers and I definitely recommend it. I can't wait to walk the Camino so I can stay here again!
