This was a wonderful time for my first Worldpackers experience! As I have walked several Caminos, I wanted to see a different part of the Camino by offering hospitality to pilgrims. These were irreplaceable weeks meeting people from around the world and also working with fellow volunteers that became a family. Stef was also a very kind, welcoming, and flexible host who wanted all volunteers to experience the beauty of his home and of the community in Pola de Allande!

My stay at the guest house Pelegrino has exceeded my expectations. The tasks are easy to perform: changing sheets and towels, cleaning rooms, bathrooms, putting washing machines, laying out and collecting clothes once dry, preparing breakfasts and dinners. Work depends to a large extent on the number of travellers staying each day, which varies greatly from one day to the next. We divide the tasks by preference and always collaborating among us. To finish, I would like to thank Stef for allowing me to be part of her project and my colleagues for their love and help. Buen camino!

Stef is an engaging host: generous with his time, knowledge and experience. A fascinating multi-lingual character, with a mischievously dry wit. This is my first time wirk8ng as a volunteer on the Camino - and I could not recommend a better host for my experience.

I had a beautiful time at the guest house! 🌻 Stayed there for two weeks and it was awesome to meet new pilgrims every day. The house is really cosy and it was fun to take care of it and the garden. We had a nice time with the other volunteers staying there and Stef is a great host. You always have lunch and dinner together, so its a familiar atmosphere. Pola has nearly everything you need, its a really peaceful and lovely little village. But I never got bored, there is always something to do :) Thanks for this beautiful experience! ☀️

If you truly wish to experience another aspect of your Camino journey this is the perfect place to be. Stef's house is a peaceful sanctuary where you can be involved as much as you want to be, including gardening, maintenance, creativity. It is very comfortable, good vegetarian meals, hot water and wifi, a home from home. Meeting with the international pilgrims each day is both interesting and educational. Staying here truly enhanced my journey. I really enjoyed the company of the other volunteers and thanks Stef for a great day out exploring the neighbouring towns.

I had a really good time at Stef's albergue. I felt comfortable and had great people around me. We worked about 5 hours a day and had plenty of free time. Every day was different and special. Thank you for many wonderful moments.

Volunteering at the guest house in the charming village of Pola de Allande was truly unforgettable. The vibrant community here with volunteers and pilgrims sharing meals and stories, creates lasting bonds and a rich culture exchange. Every task from cooking to cleaning directly aids the pilgrims, making the work incredibly fulfilling. Stef, the wonderful owner, ensures everyone feels comfortable and at home, making the experience even more special. If you're seeking a rewarding volunteer opportunity, the guest house is an excellent choice.

Volunteering at Stefs the guest house is a unique experience. There are interesting people coming in and out of the place and I learned a lot about pilgrimage during my stay. the guest house is located in a small village with beautiful nature where you can go on walks. You're expected to work independently and the workload can vary greatly depending on how many volunteers and pilgrims there are. I visited during low-season, so there was less dynamic than there'd usually be. I recommend this experience to people who are interested in pilgrimage and want to spend some time away from the city.

It was a good experience for me overall. I really enjoyed having conversations with pilgrims from different countries and I made lot of friends during my stay. The work is not hard, just small tasks from morning to night. But there is a lack of organization, so it makes really difficult to have a free day. Sometimes I felt like the effort and work that is done from volunteers, is not valued at all. It's just from my experience. But as I said, overall I had good times on the guest house, and I had really unforgettable moments there.
