What a special, heartwarming experience. In my 2 weeks here I learned so many new skills and met people from dozens of countries. Such a rewarding experience; even if there were days with a heavier workload, the pilgrims were almost always very vocal about their gratitude. Please note that the hours advertised are only true if there are at least 3+ volunteers present & active the entire day. Volunteers are responsible for coordinating days off, I recommend that being decided as soon as possible. Best if you are proactive & open minded, bonus if you speak multiple languages! Thank you Stef!

Volunteering at the guest house was such a memorable part of my Camino adventure! I helped with housekeeping, cooking, and welcoming pilgrims. The work itself was just right—not overwhelming, not boring. I truly enjoyed making the communal dinners and sharing meals with pilgrims from all over the world. Stef, the host, is thoughtful and deeply connected to different cultures (you'll see this beautifully reflected in the albergue's unique decor!). The volunteer room was cozy and peaceful, with a stunning view of the town. I highly, highly recommend this experience!

This was my first time volunteering through WorldPackers and i could not have been more pleased with the experience. Stef from the start was extremely communicative, helpful and kind. The tasks are very simple, cleaning, cooking and checking in the Pilgrims. I met so many different people and as a Canadian definitely improved my Spanish! I would recommend if you are going in the early to late Spring months to pack warm clothes as i found the house to be quite cold but Stef made sure to provide me with a jacket and extra blankets. Definitely recommend this experience!

The experience at the guest house was incredible! It feels like a small family :) The tasks are simple and are shared among the volunteers, so we can sometimes help each other . Besides the team, it's also very interesting to talk with the pilgrims and offer them a nice dinner. Thank you so much, Stef!

This was my first time as a volunteer and I would say that this is a very good place to start in this kind of activities. Stef is such a great person!!! he is always open to any question or doubt you may have. I'm really happy that I've met volunteers from around the world! Pola de Allande is a very beautiful place to stay, everything is very close and Stef makes you feel like you're in home 🏠.

Steff is a lovely host who welcomed us with open arms. The hostel is quite beautiful and very unique. The work is light and flexible. We were provided with all the ingredients to cook, although you gotta be a bit creative. The garden is directly next to the river and very cosy. Pola is a beautiful place in the mountains with great nature, cute houses and shops. It is quite remote and hard to get in and out to without a car so just be prepared or okay with that. If you come in colder months bring warm clothes. Otherwise I really enjoyed my stay and can only recommend it.💕

This was such an incredible experience and I would definitely recommend! We had a few free hours everyday to explore the cute village of Pola de Allande and the nature surrounding the town is also so beautiful. You get to meet and talk to new people from all over the world everyday which was really interesting :)

Our two weeks at the guest house were great! The atmosphere at the place is amazing and it felt like we became a small family. Our tasks consisted mostly of making the beds each morning, cleaning the floors and the bathroom, laundry and sometimes cooking the meals as well as washing the dishes. Even though the hours weren't set we had a few hours everyday of free time to explore the cozy village. Every night we had dinner with the pilgrims and the other volunteers which was so much fun! You got to hear everyone's story and meet people from all over the world! We would really recommend this!
