My time here was great. The tasks are easy and don't normally require the 4 hours of the shift, so you have plenty of time to enjoy the beach or explore the island. Keep in mind, though, that there is only one employee besides the manager, so the hostel is run by the volunteers. It is not a big problem since the hostel is small, but it led to some communication problems since the "older volunteers" were training the new ones, which is hardly ideal. Proper training was the one thing lacking here.

I would definitely recommend. The hostel is really chill and you don't have to work too much. You will be informed about your shifts right away so you can make plans. Other than Seyd and Ammar, who are both really nice, because they help you with everything and also give you information about the island!! There are only working volunteers. I really liked my 2 weeks at the hostel but the next thing to upgrade in the hostel should be the volunteer beds 😉 Enjoy your stay!

I had a really nice time volunteering at the hostel. I was made to feel really welcome by all the volunteers and it was great to work with them all. The shifts are quite simple, as I was only there for a week I was mostly put on the morning shifts so I had time to explore Langkawi. The hostel itself is very relaxed and has a nice 'homey' vibe to it, and it was the perfect place to settle in for a short time.

I really enjoyed the three weeks I spent volunteering at the hostel. I met a lot of incredible people. I made friendships with both other volunteers and guests. The work hours were respected, and the hostel is so comfortable and fun to hang out in. Here you can find a good balance between socializing and relaxing. There are a lot of areas to sit down and relax, but also to workspaces if you're a digital nomad. The location is great, close to the beach, shops and food trucks. I would absolutely recommend working at this hostel, it was one of my best experiences during my entire trip.

I had a great time at the hostel dorm, met a lot friends from all over the world, the staffs and other volunteers are very nice and Syed's beef rendang was top notch. 4hrs shift per day wasn't that heavy however I was kinda lazy to explore outside afterwards (plus Langkawi's weather was crazily hot) so I spent most of my time staying at the hostel. The hostel is clean and cozy. Definitely one of my best experiences ever.

My husband and I had such a incredible time at the hostel. The tasks were easy and we never worked more than we agreed. Staff taught us with respect and made us feel so welcome. We had a pleasure volunteering with incredible people too, Carren and Hanne will be our friends for life! During our free time we were able to talk a lot with guests and had a great time sharering travel experiences with everyone. The hotel manager Syed even cooked some delicious Malay food for us! We are very grateful and would love to go back some day!

Volunteering at the hostel was such a calm and comfortable first Worldpackers experience. The hostel itself just feels like a big house share where you don't feel you're on top of one another with how spacious it is and everyone staying is so friendly. Mala, (hostel's manager) has the kindest soul and ensures you're looked after for - any queries you have, she's always willing to get them answered to without fail. The tasks listed are reasonable and they respect the 4hr shift duration, so I was never overworked and thanked for the work I completed on the day. Thank you for everything x

I had a lovely time with the hostel. Their organized systems and strict 4-hour shifts left plenty of time for volunteers to explore the island. Mala, the new hostel manager, was a pleasure to work with – calm, competent, and patient in guiding us. Her clear vision for hostel improvement was admirable. Syed, the general manager, is a great cook and having a few insightful conversations with him added to this enriching experience.

During her one week volunteering period, Lara proved to be a delightful addition to the team. She tried to tackle all assigned duties with great enthusiasm. Her willingness to learn and her pleasant personality made her a good volunteer. Lara's sweet demeanor and friendly nature instantly endeared her to both guests and staff. Her ability to connect with guests was exceptional, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Though her time was short, Lara's positive impact was significant to the hostel. Our heartfelt thanks and best wishes to her for a bright and prosperous future.

I've had an amazing experience volunteering at the hostel. The hostel is very nice, with friendly common areas. It feels like a big shared flat, a home away from home. I've met amazing people (both volunteers - with an amazing team - and the guests). According to your shift, you'll do more cleaning tasks (in the morning) or reception responsibilities (afternoon and evening), 4 hours per day with one day off per week. You have bread and jam for breakfast. Thanks to the shared kitchen, you can also cook your own meals. The beach is just 3 minutes walking from the hostel.
