The Experience

We are looking for CURIOUS travelers who want to live an authentic South African experience. Main activities: Lead experiences with the Curious Travellers: Hiking, Walking Tours, Art walks, cycling. Other responsibilities Check in Guests, Create a positive environment to connect travelers at events and activities, and answer booking inquiries. We expect flexible volunteers who want to contribute and share meaningful cultural exchanges.

The hotel normally hosts South Africans and people from all over the world and the way people relate to one another is amazing alongside the cultural exchanges. It is easy to make pals and as a traveler, I can assure everyone that you will never feel alone here. I recommend the hotel as it is not only advantageous in a sense that you will learn a lot about people and the hospitality environment but it offers a pure sense of belonging, of which is what the brand advocates for.

É preciso deixar claro que o hotel de CPT está muito mais próximo de um hotel do que de um hostel. Eles recebem alguns grupos e hóspedes que prezam por conforto e experiências individuais, o que acaba resultando num nível de pressão e demandas extras que para mim foi ok, mas que podem não ser ideal para uma pessoa que busque algo mais "simples". Tirando esse alinhamento de expectativa inicial, fui bem recebido pelo anfitrião e sua equipe e tive uma excelente experiência por lá. Pude me conectar com os outros funcionários da equipe e a carga horária semanal foi respeitada. Recomendo!

Gustav came and worked with us this May for almost 5 weeks. He is more than exceptional in the way that he just avails himself for service.

He was keen to learn and help any way he could. He availed himself to learn how to use our system on the front desk as soon as he came and how we do our social events. He went above and beyond what was expected of him and truly is a hospitality person.

When we needed assistance at the reception he was ready, trained and could check in guests without supervision within a short period of time. He is a strong communicator, a great team player, teachable and pleasant person who adapts easily to the ever changing needs of hospitality.

I believe Gustav's exceptional character, enthusiasm and desire to serve is an asset to any place he will be working or volunteering. We wish him all the best.
