I had a really nice time volunteering at the lodge! You mainly work with Victor, a local who lives on the finca. The work is hard but fulfilling and most afternoons are free so you can relax. On free days we went to the Lagoon, swimming or play tejo. I felt very welcomed by both David and Victor and his partner Paula. One thing to note is that Victor and Paula only speak Spanish, which was good for practicing but sometimes also diffucult so good to keep in mind if you barely speak any Spanish.

David and his family welcomed me with open arms and made me feel comfortable. I enjoyed working with Victor and Paula. They are incredible people who opened their home and lives to me. Despite the language barrier we enjoyed many laughs. The setting is absolutely gorgeous. However, I think it is important to have realistic expectations. Half of my time there I was the only volunteer so I spent time alone. The closest store is 30 min away walking. You have to cook every meal which can be tiring after working 5 hours. But this is all part of the experience which I would do again in a heartbeat.

My time at the Finca was amazing, we got to learn a lot about food production and nature in general, and it was great to be immersed with locals! David is really nice and made us feel welcomed in the finca! My Spanish really improved by just being there 2 weeks! Really recommend if you are looking for something peaceful.

It's a wonderful place, beautiful and cozy, Inmerse in nature. You'll have to help with different tasks, both caring for the house and the animals, as well as having the opportunity to learn and connect with nature. David is an excellent host, knowledgeable about many subjects. He and his family are respectful and helpful . I had to leave earlier than planned but I'll be happy to return someday. 100% recommended.

I truly had a wonderful time at La the lodge! David was the perfect host, super friendly and speaks great English. He made us amazing coffee and we ate together a few times. He had a lot of tips on where to go in Colombia and is very knowledgeable. His wife and daughter are great as well, it really felt like a home away from home The work was fine, very versatile which was nice. I learned a lot about living and working on a farm, about animals, as well as the beautiful Colombian culture, food and Spanish language. There was also enough time to relax. 100% recommend! A wonderful month ❤️
