The Experience

Behappy is located in a authentic fishing village close to Porto and just one minute away from the ocean. We're surrounded by hidden and uncrowded beaches and natural areas, where you can chill, relax and explore. Besides that, you can enjoy activities like surfing, yoga and SUP. The main tasks are helping at the breakfast, cleaning the rooms and organizing activities with the guests (BBQ, Food tours, bike tours...). Join us and have fun :)

What can I say about the hostel, Francisca, María, and María… they are truly wonderful people. This month in Esmoriz has been even more rewarding than I ever imagined. I arrived with high expectations and I leave with even higher ones. The people I met, the little things they taught me, the culture, the town, the atmosphere...it's all simply magical. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for an adventure in such a beautiful corner of Portugal. Every place has its stories, and this one is definitely unforgettable. Love you the hostel team. Pura Vida!!!

My experience at BE HAPPY Hostel in Esmoriz was incredible! The town is small, peaceful, and just a few steps from the beach — perfect if you're looking to surf, relax, and disconnect. I came to improve my surfing and was definitely worth it!. I met good people, had so much fun, and got to experience the local culture — delicious Portuguese food, music, and traditions. The BE HAPPY staff is by far the best I've ever worked with: super friendly, relaxed, flexible, and they really trust you with your tasks. Thank you for everything, and I hope to see you again!

My volunteering experience in the hostel was absolutely amazing! Working with Francisca and both Marias was very nice, they are very clear with the tasks, always respect the schedule and they became my friends in Esmoriz. I would love to go again, I wouldn't change anything and thank you for this time that now feels so short. I enjoyed the beach, the bike trips and talking with all the travelers I met in the hostel. I recommend this experience 100%!!

My stay at the hostel was the first one I did via the Worldpackers platform and I can only recommend it immensely! Maria and Francisca are the most amazing, warm and kind people who will always make sure you feel comfortable, no matter if it comes to work or your time off. It felt more like working with friends than anything else and I will always hold the experience dear to my heart. :)) The amount of work was just as described, mainly setting up breakfast in the morning and afterwards do some housekeeping, keeping your whole afternoon and evening free, even on your workdays!
