Monika and her family were so welcoming throughout the whole stay. Even with her busy schedule, Monika always made time to spent with the volunteers everyday. You can spend a lot of time with the animals-chickens, cows and a cat. There is also a lot of beautuful nature and lakes around. The avarage work schedule looked like this: 6-9am picking rasberries, 6-8pm weed control. Its perfect for getting out of the city life and be close to nature with good people around.

My experience at Monika's farm was great! Monika and her family are incredibly kind and caring people. One of Monika's primary concerns is always to make sure that we feel comfortable and that our stay goes as smoothly as possible. On top of that, she's a great cook ;) The atmosphere at the farm was very pleasant. Monika is very available, but also lets us have our private moments. It was a pleasure to work on the farm and to live among the animals (they are very friendly). I really enjoyed sharing moments with them and meeting the family entourage. I hope to go back. :)

I had such a lovely time at the farm. The host family was amazing, took really good care of us and made us feel at home. The workload was not that hard (but waking up at 6 was:D). While picking rasberries we met some of Monikas family and friends and during the weed control we hung out with chickens and Koko. I was most excited about the cows which were just adorable! Plus we were very fortunate to meet a baby cow that was born while we were there. Overall this was the best first volunteering experience I could ask for! Thank you Monika and Jura for this amazing experience<3

I recommend this experience 100 percent! Me and Balázs are a little bit more on the shy side, but we were made comfortable straight from the beginning by Monika and her family. This experience was one of the best things that has happened to us, even despite being unlucky with the weather. Monika made sure we were never hungry, and we even had the chance to explore the area, also for the reason that part of the work was very flexible (doing weed-control). The farm itself was a very peaceful, pretty place, a great opportunity to spend some time close to nature:)

An unforgettable experience for us! Bereniké and I were there as first-time volunteers. Monika and her family were super welcoming and friendly from the first moment to the last. We appreciated this experience so much, as we learnt a lot about both the pros and the struggles of farm life. Perfect opportunity for first time volunteers as well. Monika is very helpful and takes care of every volunteer superbly. We really don't have any complaints, this was a special farm experience that we will forever be grateful for!<3

I had such a lovely time on the farm 🥹 I'd highly recommend this experience for anyone seeking a peaceful time in nature with a beautiful, kind and generous family. From the moment Monika met me at the station I felt so welcomed and at home and I continued to feel this way during my whole stay. The volunteers stay in a separate building very close to the host's house, the rooms are spacious and the beds are so comfy! Monika has so much love for her raspberries, the animals and the people and we were treat as though we were part of the family ❤️ I'll miss everyone so much!

I definitely recommend this experience. I was alone for most of my time there, but even in the short time when there were other volunteers, the living space -- a separate building newly renovated for volunteers -- never felt over-crowded. The work is straightforward, it can be tiring in the heat but Monika will always listen and work with you to find the schedule best for you. I had a great time getting to know the family, their animals, neighbors, and friends. Monika and Jure have built a wonderful life and are extremely accommodating to all the volunteers and will make you feel at home.

Wonderful experience in Vojnik! Sandra and I were there as our first-time volunteering as a couple and have so many good memories now that will never forget about this place. The landscape is amazing, really peaceful, with great views and plenty of nature. The appartment where we stayed is very big and we have our independence. Family meals were a great way to relax from the work. We were there prior to the harvest season, so we have been doing weed control (with the supervision of the chickens) and other farming stuff, needed for the plantation and the animals. All in all, awesome experience

When I first came, she was kind and very compassionate. However, I got an eye infection the second day where my eye was swollen the size of a golf ball and she kept insisting in pushing back the time to take me to the emergency room. She asked me if I could “wait an hour until she finishes picking the berries.” I found this to be really inconsiderate considering the state of my eye. If you're not sick during your stay or there is no emergency of some sort, then I'm sure you'll have a great time!

Tara, I’m a bit surprised and disappointed with this review.
You wrote me around 6 am that you eye was swallowed (not in size of a golf ball), but you never complained about pain, blood, redness (sign of infection). So, I suggested that we call doctor at 7 am, and by 8 am, we were already at the doctor’s office. I went with you, filled out the paperwork, and did everything to ensure your well-beeing. I had to go back to work, and when you finished with visit by doctor I came to pick you up. You agreed to this agreement before I left the doctor’s office. When I picked you up (around 12 am) your eye was more then 50% better.

You looked happy all the time on our farm, enjoying your stay, especially spending time with animals. Your work was really less demanding and also less efficient in comparison to others, but I gave you the opportunity anyway to improve yourself (with encourageing you, showing you the right way), becouse of your short visit. But if you were looking for volunteering on a farm, that includes bees, spiders and other bugs on the field and the work needs to be done even if they cross you path. And to follow recommendations how some work needs to be done, not just to wait when we will finish with work with which you are not used to. Helping on a farm doesn’t mean that you do something on your way, but on a way that is efficient for the farm and to show respect to the host and other volunteers.
Sometimes we need to go out of our comfort zone, and to do/give something for/to others not just to take. I allways arranged you free transport to/from station even on your days off and when your return was really late in the evening.
When we first meet I told you that I expect you to be honest with me. I know that I was doing my best for you to feel good, and you gave me the feeling that you are very satisfied here and you also told me that you have/had great time and never gave me a filling that you had bad time here.

I understand that this is a new generation of young people, but I was doing my best to make you feel comfortable. However, there are boundaries, and sometimes, we can cannot adjust everything to your pace. Consider beeing more responsable, respectable and adaptable for you future exchanges.
