The Experience
My name is Luiza, and we are glad to Welcome you to our Casa da Mata's Hostel. We are located a 25min walk from Costa da Caparica center (surf spot in Portugal), a 5min walk away from the beach. Our main needs are for cleaning the space, serving breakfast, check ins and check outs. We value people with initiative, who have a spirit of teamwork and who contribute to the activities independently, respecting the Hostel and the guests.

I had a great time at the guest house, unfortunately I had to end my volunteer earlier due to health issues. Pedro was a great host, always available to help. The work is pretty easy and the hours are respected. I would love to come back in another time :) Thank you all, it was a short but lovely experience !

The place is amazing, it's a beautiful spot, I would recommend for couples, despite there is no double bed. The tasks are easy, so you won't spend all day working, you can do the tasks and enjoy the beach. We just struggled with the rain, there is no structure when it's raining.

We confirmed our reservation with this host after good communication and planned our trip and flight arrivals, only to be ghosted! This was unfortunate as we had declined other experiences to work here, and ended up losing money. This host did not communicate well at all in our experience- beware!

Tej place is stunning and looks even better than in the pictures:-) The beach is just few minutes walk from the hostel. Perfect location if you want to be close to nature. The shops are 25 minutes walk to to centre of the town. The tasks were very doable - help with cleaning, changing bed sheets and check-ins (reception). I was here at the end of the season and it wasn't so busy anymore, which was nice. I've made a lot of friends here with people who stayed in the guest house for few months. We became like a little family. I am actually staying here for longer as I like the place and people:-)
