The Experience

In order to bring the same study opportunities to all children, our English center was established with the mission to help children who are from disadvantaged families have chances to approach foreign friends from different corners of the world to learn English and soft skills and get to know more about western culture. I felt very welcomed by Judi and the first evening I was taken out for dinner with 2 other volunteers. And some drinks somewhere else afterwards. I could ask any questions to Judi who had also sent me a lot of tips. With, among other things, the nice sights or restaurant tips. I also felt welcomed at the school. The work is not difficult, you read the words/sentences from the board and the children repeat this. There are different classes with children from 5 years old to teenagers. So all with a different level and you change classes during the day. A nice experience that I definitlye recomme

My stay in the school was very comfortable and I spent a great time there! The classes were very easy and simple, there is always a teacher in class with the volunteer so the volunteer only assists the teacher. The situation is not exactly as described in the profile, however right after applying you will be informed about the conditions. Judy was very kind and welcoming, she gave me lots of tips what to do and took me out for dinner. Whenever I needed help she was there for me. I definitely recommend this experience to anyone who likes being around children and wants to experience local life:)

I volunteered for a month as an assistant english teacher in the English Language center in the school and for me, it was a very valuable experience in my life! The children are active and energetic and sweet, and the classes are very organized and you have only a helping role, so this suits everyone. The volunteer coordinator Judi was amazing, she is very friendly, helped me with everything, took me out for local foods and gave a lot of tipps about what to do and where to find things in the school. Also the teachers at the school were warm and friendly. I really loved Vietnam, thank you!

My experience at the school was wonderful. From the communication and hospitality of Judi from the very beginning and right until the I left. The warm welcome of Faith and Tony at the center, the other teachers and assistants and of course the incredibly enthusiastic and clever students. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. Judi is such a kind soul, I feel so grateful to have met her and I look forward to returning to the school and to the school in the new year. I have learnt a great deal from the great teachers of the school.
