The Experience

I've been running a kind of cafe where Koreans and foreigners can meet up to learn about their own culture and experience while having a conversation in English. This cafe doesn't actually sell coffee or tea but we do provide them with a great chance to make local friends for those who are from all over the world. As we are a kind of language cafe, it is all spoken in English which means we need someone who can speak good English. Apply! :)

I had an amazing experience! Speaking English with Koreans was so rewarding and helped me learn more about the culture and explore great local spots. Kayla and Brian were wonderful hosts—so welcoming and supportive. The whole experience was positive, from fun conversations with students to connecting with the other volunteers. I'm really grateful for this opportunity and would definitely recommend it!

I had a wonderful time at the project! Helping Koreans to practice their English is the perfect opportunity to learn more about daily life in Korea and everybody has such joyful stories to tell. There was great comunication with the hosts at all time and the work hours weren't that hard. (between 2 and 4 hours per day). Also Kayla is an amazing person! I recommend this position for people that like to talk, share and listen actively to others, and there's no time for being introvert. Also, koreans are curious about cultures worldwide so is a perfect time to share about ourselfs too! :D

The project is a fabulous place. I'm very fortunate to have had the opportunity to spend time here and I highly recommend it. I was delighted to get to know the Korean people better and build deeper relationships as time went on. Keyla and Brian are very sweet and cheerful hosts, their daughters are wonderful, and I truly wish them success in their ventures and projects. My time in Cheongju with them flew by. the project is definitely a place I'd love to return to.

I had a great experience working with Kija, even though it was for a short time. My main task was teaching English to Korean students, and it was both rewarding and enjoyable. Kija is very welcoming, kind, and flexible, and communication was always smooth. Just be aware that punctuality is key, everything is well scheduled, and being on time really matters. I'm grateful for the opportunity and highly recommend this experience to anyone interested in cultural exchange and teaching.

I really enjoyed my Time at the project, Kayla is super welcoming and kind and the students were really nice and I enjoyed talking to them. I think the project is an amazing chance to meet locals and learn a lot more about the Korean Culture. Cheongju is a quiet peaceful city and the apartment is close to the bus station so you can do weekend trips to other cities. The apartment is a bit small but it has everything you need.
