Saelao is my first volunteering experience, and it has exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I felt truly welcomed by the team and other volunteers. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, the food is amazing, and the location is beautiful. Teaching English to the children has been incredibly rewarding, and every day is filled with meaningful moments. I've grown very fond of the staff, whose energy and smiles make this place so special. What was supposed to be a three-week stay has turned into something much longer because leaving is harder than I expected.

What I've experienced in the past 3 weeks is incredible! The project is noble, the people are amazing, the students are so joyful and you get to do something special every day. It is the perfect mix of teaching and making true lao life. The facilities are good and the community of volunteers makes everything more special. I hope I can come back and support this beautiful project ❤️

I had an amazing time at Sae Lao, two weeks was not enough & I will definitely be back. The joy you feel teaching the kids is amazing. The Sae Lao team are so kind and welcoming, not to mention the food is amazing. Special shout out to Tui, Youa & Yer for all your kind hospitality. The community/family vibe at this program is such a warm feeling. I couldn't recommend volunteering here enough! Thank you Sae Lao 🫰

I'm so so so grateful I applied to this project in particular! It is a great volunteer program where you can have your first little teaching experience and also contact a lot with local community (Lao Team and students from the school) ! Also I would love to mention how amazing work all the Lao Team is doing in this project. I really felt like home even being very far away (so home I extended from 3 weeks to 4 ahahah) Thank you a lot fore everything! See you in the future hopefully!❤️🇱🇦

I had a wonderful experience at Sae Lao and I fully recommend to any traveller. I really felt a sense of community and family whilst staying here. Although I was only at Sae Lao for 2 weeks, I made the best connections and friendships that will last a lifetime. I loved seeing the joy on the childrens faces when we entered the schools and how even 2 hours a day can make a small impact on their lives. Sae Lao is a great way to feel a part of a community and a great way to give back to the people of Laos. A wonderful 2 weeks!!

Volunteering at Sae Lao is one of my top experiences of my trip. Living and working in a local community gave me a chance to really understand everyday life and opened my eyes to what is around me. I developed such strong connections with the students, volunteers and the Sae Lao team who all warmed my heart in ways I never expected. My highlights were the kids running and jumping onto the tuk tuk with such joy, painting a classroom and all the hugs/high 5s I would get from all the students at the end of every lesson. I will cherish my experience here forever :)

Saelao was my first real volunteering experience in SE Asia. Iloved working with the kids and the fact that we could bond with some of the locals. The volunteering was very well organised, as well as the activities.

I really enjoyed my experience at Sae Lao. The other volunteers and the staff were very welcoming and friendly and the children were super sweet. Unfortunately when I was there there were too many volunteers which made the living conditions a bit under my expectations.

This experience was truly amazing. You get to meet incredible people, engage with the locals and create beautiful friendships! Teaching children in the village is difficult but rewarding experience. There is lots of opportunities to create friends for life. The only thing that I can say is that even though the organisation of the project is almost perfect, more attention needs to be paid to the actual teaching. Noone is checking whether the volunteers actually follow curriculums, and there is little help offered with creating your classes. Not all volunteers are trained teachers.. 😊

My experience at SaeLao was amazing! I stayed for 3 weeks and wish I could have stayed longer. The Lao team was so incredible and it was easy to form strong connections with the other volunteers. There is lots of time to enjoy the activities that Vang Vieng has to offer. I really enjoyed the English teaching side of things and working with all the kids definitely left and impact on me. I know I will be looking for more opportunities to teach English in the future. My only things to note would be that the teaching organization could use some improvement as well as amenities for volunteers.
