I had such an incredible experience at SaeLao. Everyone was so welcoming and the teaching was very manageable - the kids were a joy to teach and there was lots of resources for lessons. I loved my 2 weeks there and will miss everyone so much!

A great way to make an impact on a backpacking trip. The teaching was amazing, an experience where you truly felt like you were making a difference. The children were so kind to work with and appreciated your company. The team at Sae Lao were really kind and welcoming. The added bonuses of trips to lagoons and into vang Vieng town on a Friday night were a great way to unwind at the end of the week.

I really loved my time at Sae Lao. During my two week stay I really fell in love with the people, both staff and other volunteers and the beautiful mountains and nature surrounding the area. The work was very manageable and well structured so you always knew what you needed to do by when. The team was super welcoming and always helpful when I had questions or requests. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone wanting to teach English and make a real impact :)

It was a great experience, I recommend it ! If I have the opportunity, I will go back there for sure. The staff is incredibly kind and the organisation is pretty good. I spend a really nice month with you, it brings me a lot. If you hesitate to do it, don't, just do it. It's 100% worth it !

I spent 2 weeks in SaeLao and loved it. I felt really welcome and in good hands. You teach for 2 hours in the afternoon. The children are great. They are really motivated and grateful to learn English. You prepare the lessons yourself in the afternoon. Materials for this are provided. There is a good balance between work and free time. Joint excursions are organized. A great project.

The energy and commitment shown by everyone involved was really nice. The drive to make change was impressive. The volunteers also have the chance to discover the local area in their free time which was great. For me the best moments were the interactions with the children in the school. The sparkle in their eyes when we started the lessons their desire to learn and have fun just the pure joy of those hours together.I would have liked to take them all home with me:-) It was a wonderful experience.

Wonderful experience overall although we were only there for two weeks. Had some initial doubts on whether we were making any difference with the English teaching but these were dispelled when seeing and hearing the level of the students during the Friday Toastmaster sessions (awesome). We were warmly welcomed and looked after by the amazing local staff members and met some lovely people among the volunteers. Recommended.

This was my first volunteering experience I've done with Worldpackers and it was one of the best things I've done on my backpacking trip. The community at SAELAO is nothing but inviting and kind, making the transition into the co-living effortless. Teaching the kids of Nathong school was the highlight of the project, interacting and developing connections with the kids taught me many new skills in teaching that I will never forget. I recommend to any traveller to join this project to not only give back but experience life in a local community. 2 weeks was not enough!

I will never forgret the three weeks I spent at Sae Lao. From the first moment on, I felt warmly welcomed by the volunteers and the Lao staff. The location of the project offers magical views and numerous activities to keep yourself busy, while also allowing you to rest when you feel like it. When travelling abroad, Sae Lao felt like a new home and little comfort zone. The mix between volunteers and Lao staff members makes this place special and makes it easy to make new friends. Thanks to everyone who makes from this project a reality!
