My experience at the hostel was excellent, the place is truly magical, full of nature, we were literally at the foot of the mountain and the sheep grazed very close. Fergal was always very friendly, he offered to take us to the town to buy groceries. The tasks are simple and I had the opportunity to speak with people of different nationalities, thus improving my English. I also learned to play piano, there is a beautiful piano and a guitar! I really have the best memories, I met very nice people with whom I formed a friendship! Thanks to the hostel team.Fergal and Dona.

This experience was just as I imagined it 🌈. It's surrounded by nature, with a fair accommodation-work exchange, we've to much time to spend both with yourself and with all the guests who arrived. I've wonderful memories of the evenings spent at the cozy room with people of all nationalities. I highly recommend the experience in this hostel, if you want to be in contact with as many people and volunteers as possible I recommend the summer months; while for those who want to have an experience where they can also stay alone and reflect the months like October are perfect! ☀️

Had such an amazing time volunteering at the hostel! Located in the beautiful Connemara, it was great to be surrounded by nature and meet lovely travellers. Fergal was a great host, super flexible and always available to help out and take you to the shops when needed :) Overall a 10/10 experience!!

I had a really great time at the hostel. The place was nice, the tasks weren't that difficult and I learned a lot of new things. I met a lot of amazing people there, especially, of course, the other volunteers, with whom I shared happy and meaningful moments. Fergal, the manager, was really nice and chill, he always had a good story to tell and was always there to help me and the team. I'm very grateful for this opportunity. My experience at the hostel was an amazing 4 weeks! The work was just as described on Worldpackers, making beds and cleaning in the morning and checking in guests in the afternoon/ evening. The surrounding area of Connemara was very beautiful with a lake that is easily accessible from the hostel. There are hiking routes that start at the hostel as well. I also worked with an amazing group of people from all over the world that that I'm happy to call my friends. I highly recommend volunteering at the hostel!

Volunteering here was amazing. The hostel is at a very peaceful location and has a nice cozy atmosphere. There was a couple of different daily tasks to be done, so remembering small details from each of them was a bit confusing at first (especially as it was my first volunteering job in a hostel). However, support was always offered so it never felt overwhelming. Fergal, the manager, was super kind and welcoming, and the other volunteers quickly became great friends. I'm very grateful for this experience and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to spend some time in the countryside.

Staying at the Hostel has been one of the best experiences I've ever had, the welcoming was very warm and after just a few days the place already felt like home. The location is stunning and there are a lot of activities to do in the area, and we also had a bike at our disposal, which made things even easier. The best thing about this experience has been meeting amazing people from all over the world that made the work feel like playing. The working hours were pretty light and never more than agreed and the manager, Fergal, has always been very kind and careful that we enjoy our stay the most.

I had such an amazing time volunteering here, I didn't want the month to end. The work is easy and not too much, the location is absolutely beautiful and the host is very nice and will always try to help if there is a problem. I worked and lived with many amazing volunteers from all over the world and it was a lot of fun to be apart of that team. There are plenty of fun things to do in your free time, though of course those who love hiking + being out in nature will have more fun as it is very remote. I learnt a lot and if there is ever an opportunity would 100% do it again. Heavily recommend!

Working at the hostel as a team of six was a lot of fun!From the first day on everybody was welcoming and helpful, so in the end I had a second little family (with Fergal as our understanding an storytelling uncle). He really gives every volunteer the opportunity to have a good time and explore as much of Connemara as you want. The work was just as describes and very reasonable. This hostel is a good place to meet people from all over the world, travelling in a lot of different ways. I am gonna miss all the funny laughters, game-nights (thanks PJ)and barbecues we've had! Thank you BL-Team!

If your looking for a nice experience this is a really good one. The enviroment of the hostel is really cool and the manager - Fergal, he is a really nice guy and he understands the concept of volunteer work perfectly. He always helps volunteers with schedules and makes sure their exchange is fun. Hours worked are exactly as agreed. This experience provides an immense contact with nature, culture and guests. Thank you the hostel!!
