I loved my time at the hostel <3 It was a wonderful experience full of lovely people (the staff, volunteers, and guests). The property is great as it is very spacious. The pool is big, there are places to soak up sun or stay in the shade, and plenty of places to sit and mingle, eat, or swing in a hammock. I enjoyed being able to use the staff kitchen. Of course you need to ensure you are clean and do not interfere with the ingredients used for the paid menu. Staff/Volunteers are even provided an array of food: pantry staples, fruits & veg, etc. (no spices). Team communication is good. Go for it!

My experience at the hostel was amazing! Nice people, nice place and great vibe! Schedules and shift always been respected; you have the freedom to choose which kind of activities you feel comfortable doing at the hostal. Staff room is good, with fan, AC and enough space for your stuffs. Facilities are great, pool is great, drinking games and Cenotes tours the best here! Special thanks to Cochi, Felipe, Martin, Vania, Eduardo, Dani, Alexis and Carlos for being nice with me always!

When I walked into the volunteer room, I almost left immediately. I was disgusted with the condition of the room. The white ceiling fans were black with dust, the mattresses had werid stains, the walls and ceiling were falling apart and the floor was visibly dirty. The beds were old & cheap and had no privacy unlike the guests beds. The showerhead in the staff bathroom was rusty. I did enjoy working with Emma, Kathy, & Alexis. Having basic foods and free tours were nice. I had a longer review but had to shorten it. Overall, stay was okay. the hostel needs to improve the living space for volunteers.

Talento replied

Thanks Wilonda for your feedback. We are always looking how to improve our space. Also, is necesary to have volunteers involved on the order and cleaning (that´s a task for them in their room). When any volunteer arrives, we show them the cleaning stuff and we show them too the cleaning schedule. Unfortunatelly, i didn´t saw you cleaning your space during your whole stay.

Regards,

Felipe - Che Merida Manager
