This volunteering was a beautiful experience. Working with Dan, John, and the Resort crew in general was really great. They are all respectful of your timetable and how you combine it with any other job you have. The landscapes were stunning and we could visit and enjoy them thanks to their help in terms of transportation or useful tips. If you are a lover of Japanese food and want to connect with the locals, this is also the place for you. It's close enough to the home so you can try its restaurants and connect with its people, far enough so you can enjoy peaceful nature. 100% recommended!

I had such a fantastic time at the home Resort, it never felt like work. I worked mostly with the Summer camps & in the kitchen sometimes. The summer camp days were long, sometimes all day & overnight on occasion, but it never felt like work. Teaching the kids how to build a camp fire, make s'mores, kayaking & hiking all day pushed their limits and mine in a good way. Working with Aki in the kitchen, Dan & John with the campers was a great experience. They're all easy to work with & are good about balancing work & time off. I recommend volunteering here. I felt welcome, safe &respected.

This was my second volunteer experience but I think it felt more like summer adventure (in summer camp ) It took almost all my time since I had day and night shifts but I truly enjoy the time and was happy to help with everything (it definitely didn't feel like work and every day was fun and interesting + I tried a lot of new activities ) Met a lot of nice and interesting people. This was perfect for summer and I really would like to come back to this beautiful place. Already miss Hokkaido and the home Thank you)))

It was such a nice experience in the home, the whole crew is friendly and helpful, they will make their best to make you have a good experience, you will never run out of food in the house, just if you are coming to the home, be aware of the food, don't waste it. there were around 7 of us in the house, we split tasks and home cores. I learned various values during this time, i appreciate the work i did, and the importance of the team work. Being surrounded by nature was very important for me, as i am used to big cities. Thank all of you guys, and see you soon!!!

My time at the home was great ! This was my first workaway experience and stayed longer than expected. The place is very remote and there is not much action around in off-season but this makes you have the whole nature just for you (hikes, kayak, surf, golf...), perfect to have a relax travel break far from the overwelming japanese cities. The team is very easy-going, fun and flexible. And you will be sharing the house with other foreigners, very nice vibe going 🙂 The work can vary everyday which is nice ! Can be outdoor, enjoying the nature and the beautiful view.

Vincent, I want to express my sincere gratitude for your visit to Iwanai. I understand that this time of year may not have been the most eventful, but I genuinely appreciate the time you spent here and the invaluable support you provided for the various projects we had going on. Your contribution made a significant difference. I want you to know that you are always welcome back in Iwanai. Your presence and assistance were truly valued, and we would be thrilled to have you join us again in the future. As you continue your travels and eventually return to France, I wish you the best of luck with all your endeavors.

This was my first time volunteering in this type of program, and what an experience! I stayed for a month. Nature is amazing, I met a lot of great people (from the company and also other volunteers, as well as summercamp kids), working hours are respected and also flexible... Dan is very open, friendly, funny and easy-going, as well as reliable. It's definitely a good chance to see an internacional Japanese-gaijin environmet, to enjoy a peaceful spot far from big cities and to learn about flexibility and many other life lessons if you're open to them. Thanks again for the good memories!

Our stay at the home's Gaijin house was one of the best experiences that we've worked on. The work during our stay was in the kitchen with Chef Carl. He's one of the people that made it exciting and he always took care of us. The exchange is more like a job however, the benefits you receive are worth every second of work. Each day of work you get lunch and discounted meals. Also at the accommodation Riku, Joe, and Aki keep the house stocked with food it's so convenient. You will be staying in the sticks but the wifi is stronggggggggg and the resort allows you to ski for free.

Our time at the home Resort was short but fun!! The volunteer work is more than other experiences, and I worked in the kitchen, so it was definitely a real job, but the benefits are worth it. Most other volunteer experiences have some free food, but, here, there was a huge amount of groceries available to us and family meals cooked at the restaurant everyday that we worked. The place is very remote, and you can't really do anything besides ski w/a car, but skiing/snowboarding is free for volunteers and they have equipment that you can use for free. They have cars available if you drive also!

I had a great time in the home. If you want to travel off the beaten path, this is definitely the place. All the people I worked with were funny and solid workers. Would kill to be there during the snowy season.

This experience was an absolute breath of fresh air! I was there before the skiing season started but being on the mountainside in the fall was so beautiful! Everyone who lived at the house was wonderful and we had a great time cooking together and hanging out in the evenings. The work was pretty simple stuff while I was there but I'm pretty sure the kind of work changes with the season. My favorite parts were the people I met and the spontaneous weekend trip we took together, but I really loved everything about it and wish I could have stayed longer!
