I spent a wonderful month in the home! I made many friends and visited a lot of places! The landscape is beautiful, the food is excellent and the people are friendly! The work was fair and even pretty fun at times! I was able to visit parts of Hokkaido, hike around and go to some festivals! My only wish is to be able to come back, this time in winter !

My working experience at the home was my first in a foreign country and I would do it anytime again! I really liked the rural character of the home and I also enjoyed meeting the most friendly local people and getting in touch with international travellers. Also Dan is a very nice guy and managed our working times fairly! For those who want to experience the true japanese experience, you should go here. Coming back one day!

I had a really fun experience at the home ski resort, I voulonteer during spring, the home is a really cute village, the mountains are wonderful, the same for the coast (I even had the chance to arrive for the Hanami period). Dan and John (the responsibles) are great persons, really helpfull to acclimate you.

I've spent the most amazing winter season I could have ever dreamed of in the home! The working hours were respected, there were always people ready to help if needed, the living conditions were great, and so were the people. I'll come back!

I spent 2 months in the home for the winter season and loved it! I met so many incredible people, everyone was super friendly and the work was fun. Work is 5 days a week, 5 hours + 30 min lunch and 2 days off. Working in the kitchen was a little busy sometimes but overall easy. They have a separate house for the volunteers, we did our own groceries and put it on a tab at the supermarket which was super convenient. They have ski gear available (depends on your size) and the lift is free! The only downsides were the lack of central heating and bugs. Thanks everyone at the home Resort. <3

Dan is a gracious host and fun to work with! I enjoyed living with other volunteers and employees from around the world in the 'Gaijin House'. The tasks are physically demanding so be prepared to roll up your sleeves. The hours were always respected and it felt like a fair exchange. I had a fun time overall and would recommend it to anyone wanting to see rural Japan 🇯🇵

This was our first volunteering expirience, and it was awesome. Even though the place is a bit remote, it has a lot to offer. Onsen is right across the street, there are bikes you can borrow, hiking trails, or you can just chill in the house with the biggest TV. Working hours are respected, the management is really friendly and easy to get along with. Would recommend to anyone!

My volunteering experience in the home was fantastic! I enjoyed it so much that I extended my stay. Dan, the other volunteers, and the beautiful nature made it truly special. Work hours were respected, and in our free time, we explored many hikes and local spots. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a rewarding and enjoyable volunteering experience.

The nature is gorgeous; there are plenty of hikes and onsen to enjoy. The house is old but comfy after you get used to it! It's pretty big so there's a lot of work to do to keep it clean. As other reviews said and as always in a group house, the cleanliness will depend on the group. I was there with a few people only and we all got along great while each mostly doing our own thing . I imagine in winter it's much more lively. Dan is quite nice and tries to be flexible but at the end of the day it felt much more like a job than a collaboration. You have to push a bit to get what you need!
