The Experience
Finca la Quimera is a project for a sustainable humman ecosistem in the mountains of Costa Rica Experience life on a secluded Off-Grid Farm, help us keep up with the project by beeing involved in all the project´s activities : Weeding, Mulching, preparing the soil for planting, cultivating and harvesting in our vegateble gardens, helping with the maintanance in all common areas, keeping trails clean and openning up new ones...etc

I absolutely loved my time at the project - it was way too short!! Alba is an incredible woman who created a beautiful place in the literal middle of nowhere;)) I felt heartedly welcomed the minute I entered the farm. It's a wonderful place in nature, not as easily accessible though. During the week it is hard to truly leave the farm at all but on the weekends you can make some trips to explore more of Costa Rica. The work is very manageable and Alba and Laura are both extremely knowledgeable when it comes to eco-farming and sustainability. I learned a lot from them!!

I spent three and a half wonderful weeks at the project and felt part of the place from the start. Alba has created a beautiful home and farm full of heart, shared with her daughter, two dogs, a cat and the volunteers—everyone makes you feel truly welcome. This place is full of purpose—it's inspiring, peaceful and surrounded by stunning nature. I left with new skills, impulses, recipes, and valuable knowledge about sustainable living and permaculture. Highly recommend! :)

I loved my stay at the project! It was such an amazing and eye opening experience. Me and two of my friends worked there for two weeks, but I wish we would have stayed longer. I got to learn so much about permaculture, plants, animals and living off grid. Alba and all the volunteers created such a great and comfortable environment so I immediately felt at home there. I enjoyed every part of the work, the cooking, the planting, the painting, the harvesting and all the other tasks. There was just so much to learn and do for the first time. Thank you so much Alba, i'm so grateful!! :)

I had the most incredible experience at the project! From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed by Alba and the other volunteers. I was able to learn so much about sustainable farming practices, organic agriculture, and the importance of waste control. The work was both fulfilling and challenging, from planting crops, cultivating the land, preparing lunch, laying concrete pathways and chopping wood, everyday felt like a new adventure. This experience has left me with lifelong memories, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to connect with nature and make a positive impact. 🌿
