This was my first time ever traveling alone and volunteering, so I was pretty nervous at first and didn't really know what to expect. But now being back, I can honestly say that trying volunteering was one of the best decisions I've ever made! 🌍💛 I worked at the reception, and even though it took some time to get used to the new tasks, I truly enjoyed meeting so many new people and learned a lot along the way.✨ I felt super welcomed from day one and made friendships that I know will last a lifetime. Thank you to all the amazing staff members and volunteers for making my summer so special💕🌞

When I applied to this position, I had no experience in volunteering and no idea how good this summer would get. From the moment I arrived here I felt super accommodated. Everyone was so nice and warm, from the volunteers and staff to the guests. I felt like I was apart of a family. You can imagine how hard it was to leave! If you're planning to stay in Lisbon, you should definitely consider applying to this hostel. Such a wonderful and memorable time! I felt immediately welcomed when I arrived, and the hostel quickly felt like a home away from home. Everyone is very caring and the atmosphere is positive and open. I'm super grateful for the experience I had here, and would love to come back in the future if the chance comes my way. I've made memories that I'll cherish for the rest of my life during this volunteering, it was my first so I really didn't know what to expect and it still exceeded all imaginable expectations. I have to say a big big thank you to every staff who works there, you're all amazing. Jen is way more than a manager, she was a mentor and a guardian to me, words can't describe the incredible woman and professional she is. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to volunteer at the same time as my peers co-volunteers, I feel like I'll miss them and the time we had together forever 🥹❤️
