Franco from the hostel informed me of my last min transfer to Bowdens the hostel and he was helpful in the whole process ensuring i was welcomed and informed :) this review will be for my time at Bowden the hostel; the work hours are respected (i worked 3h on weekdays and 5h on sundays), food was provided and the managers were nice :) they could improve on being more communicative with my exact tasks as there was a little confusion but it got resolved easily. overall i recommend this volunteering experience!

Kelly has worked mainly in the kitchen, she is very appreciated by her colleagues and her supervisors. She shows a very positive attitude, is very friendly and kind, and she is more than welcome to apply for another volunteering experience with us.

The room is great, we have 20 pounds to spend per week at the market (individual value), the hours are respected, the work is peaceful and the team is wonderful. One of the best volunteers I've ever done.

The volunteering experience at the hostel was so great. Everyone is really friendly and willing to help. The tasks are easy to learn quickly. You share accommodation with other volunteers and you can use the communal kitchen. The location is fantastic, you can get on the bus or DLR and be in the centre of London in minutes. As my first experience, I would recommend it to anyone.

I really enjoyed the hostel experience. I got to meet wonderful people. The staff are very pleasant, polite and patient. Schedules and days off are flexible if you need to change them. They provide a fee of £16 per week to choose products from the market for you. You can use the shared kitchen. The laundry room can be used once a week. The work is not very light, but if you chose to volunteer as a cleaning assistant, you assume that it really won't be an easy job. Rooms are shared by 3 people. In short, I loved this volunteering. I would definitely come back.

This was my first Worldpackers experience and I'm so happy about it. I had such a great time with the people that also stayed there. The work was easy and you could always ask for help. The hosts are all very fun to be around and I could only recommend this experience to everyone who want to visit London!!

This was my first experience with volunteering and it couldn't have been better! The work is not difficult and I didn't do the same thing every day, I always alternated. Although it can sometimes be a little tiring, the agreed hours have always been respected! I worked for about 2 weeks in pairs with a German volunteer and the interaction was SUPER COOL. I practiced a lot of English with my staff friends who had the greatest patience to teach me and I really made friends for life! Thank you Aliou, Jorge e Catarina for everything!!

I spent just over a month at the hostel and my experience was great! In addition to meeting new people, I was warmly welcomed by all the staff and volunteers, who were extremely welcoming and kind. The work is not difficult, although sometimes it is a little challenging, however, working hours were always respected. I am very grateful to everyone involved, but especially to manager Aliou, whose flexibility and kindness were remarkable whenever I needed support. In the future, I hope to have the opportunity to revisit this place. Thank you everyone for making my stay an amazing experience!

This was my first experience with volunteering and I really enjoyed it. I can really recommend the hostel, especially if it's your first time as a volunteer. The job is easy, even though it can be exhausting. Everything was well explained and my working times were always respected. If you have questions you can always talk to the staff and they will do their best to help you. I loved my stay at the hostel and would really like to return some time.
