I stayed two weeks in Casa de the farm and I was very content with my experience there. The place is humble, but it has everything you need. the farm is caring and very respectful host, very open and communicative. We shared a couple of meals together and a lot of talks about geopolitics. The job is not hard, with various different tasks. Alter has a couple of different beaches, one nice hiking trail and beautiful Floresta Encantada which I highly recommend. the farm will help you with useful tips and recommendations about the tours, shopping, river boats or anything else. Highly recommended.

The farm made me feel very welcome in her home. I've found a peaceful place to live outside the village of Alter do Chao. Every day I could watch little monkeys near the kitchen and go out to walk her dog Miro. The volunteer work was done in the mornings to free up time in the afternoons for other activities. the farm and I spoke English and Portuguese, which helped me to improve both languages. It was a great adventure, a great blessing. We were able to get to know each other and work together, we also had difficult moments but everything could be solved, since that is the purpose of love and improving as human beings and with the hand of God. I'm sure we contribute to each other. and that there was healing and friendship. I think it is an excellent place to heal and to learn to live in love. I enjoy a lot this experience. the farm is a great person and she has two beautiful cats. In this volunteer I learned a lot about the place, I connected with the nature, I saw many animals and I was able to live in nature. I really enjoyed the manual and artistic activities and met new wonderful volunteers. I helped make videos too and enjoyed that experience. If you want to connect with nature I recommend the experience. Alter do Chão has some beautiful beaches and a mountain that you should visit. 🍀😎

My stay in the farm's house was good! it was my first experience as a packer and my first time in the North and Amazon rainforest. What I liked the most is the fact that you work just 3h un the morning, the rest of the day is free. The house is 35 mins walking from the city center, but is duable. You will cross a neighborhood that is the B-side of Alter do Chão, so you'll see a very local environment, meet the natives and understand better the local reality. We were 2 volunteers at the same time so I had company and often we walked together to the center, picking cajus from the trees on our way!
