The Experience

My daughter is 9 years old. She's studying in Japanese primary school now. We hope some Japanese (Female Only) can play and study with her in Japanese after school (4:00-6:00， 7:00-8:00 PM) and weekend. She can speak Japanese fluently.

My experience volunteering at the hostel was incredibly special. Mickey, Mary and Natsuha are a wonderful family and made me feel so welcome. Volunteering here really means being part of the hostel family, which can come with additional responsibility, but is also what makes it so special. The two meals a day and ability to snowboard regularly make it easy to recommend this amazing place and I look forward to visiting again in the future!

The hostel was my first Worldpackers experience, and it was genuinely amazing! The hosts, Mickey and Mary, are incredibly kind and take great care of you from day one. They also have a lovely daughter, Natsuha, and an adorable dog, Chashi — both of whom I miss dearly. They all make you feel truly welcomed and like part of the family. I even got to go to an Onsen with them and celebrate New Years at a shrine :D. The work was fair and manageable, and you'll have plenty of time to snowboard or explore the area! I couldn't have asked for a better first Worldpackers experience.

Had an amazing time in the hostel ! Mary and Mickey (and Natsuha !) are truly awesome people that will make you feel welcomed and part of a family. Also the work is really varied and they have quite a few volunteers at the same time so you definitely won't get bored ! You can also use some of their ski/snowboard equipment, and they have some seasonal ski passes for the volunteers so you can enjoy the Japow at Tsugaike resort close to their place. Overall I can only recommend the hostel ! Can't wait to come back ❤️

Mickey and Mary❤️ Will forever remember them as my second parents… so sweet and warm. I would recommend the hostel to everybody, as long as you are flexible and ready to learn, everything is easy! You get much free time to do snowboarding or skiing or onsen!. 5/5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ already miss them so much💔 Luna and Silke from Denmark!

I had a great experience in Sumer the hostel, I spended the whole winter season there doing snowboard and onsen. I could learn how to snowboard from the zero, they provide the equipment and the snow pass. It's a great opportunity! The work sometimes is not so well divided but is never to much. Totally worth. Marry and Mikey are so nice people and hosts, friends forever.
