I had a great time at the hostel in Barcelona! The scheduled working times and hours were respected and the work was rather easy to learn. The team is very welcoming and open and I felt comfortable just after a few days. If you're looking for a fun experience and want to meet many international travellers, I would definitely recommend this hostel to you:)

I want to thank the hostel for the amazing experience. Juan, Guada, Felix are so kind, the whole team made me feel at home. The vibe is fun and the agreed work amount is respected. Always there to help and give tips about Barcelona, how to settle here. I learnt a lot about the hostel business. Getting everyone together for the daily free dinner gives this hostel so much life. The group of volunteers is epic, I've made friends for life. Couldn't have asked for a better first Worldpackers experience!

Juan's manner is abrupt and rude. When I politely questioned why I was working beyond the agreed hours, he responded brusquely. The rooms were dirty and untidy which I had to clean up with another worker, no security on the doors, leaving belongings vulnerable to theft. I was given a small, windowless room. While the other staff members were welcoming and made me feel at home, Juan has yet to learn how to be respectful. He is supposed to represent the hostel as a manager. The hotel advertised on Worldpackers is not the one you'll be staying in; you end up in a completely different hostel.

It was my first volunteer experience with Worldpackers and it was really nice. It's a good opportunity to explore Barcelona and to meet people from all over the world. The work itself is not really hard and not that much, so there's usually enough free time to enjoy the city. The accommodation is decent and has everything you need. I also meet a lot of nice volunteers and hope to see them again soon :)
