I had a great time in Codo! I don't speak much Spanish so communication with the hosts could sometimes be awkward but manageable. Dora and Hans were very welcoming, they took me out several times on different adventures and tried their best to make me feel at home. The English classes could be challenging at times. Attendance varies, sometimes there are 0-2 students and others there are 6-8 so it's hard to keep building off previous lessons. The students are eager to learn though it just requires flexible plans/lessons. If any future/potential volunteers have questions feel free to contact me!

The experience in Codo del Pozuzo has been fulfilling in many aspects: having the opportunity to share our knowledge and background and learning so many things about that amazing place in the middle of the peruvian jungle. They have issues yet to be impoved but the determination to do It though. Very happy to have gone and worked with them. Very important to strengthen the alliance with the natural reserve, so they can generate a very productive synergy. Un abrazo a tod@s!!

Good experience to meet locals and get to know the Peruvian culture. During the week you teach kids and adults (2-3 hours per day) while Friday to Sunday is spent going to other villages or excursions (if there are enough volunteers). Thank you so much Hans and Dora for being so welcoming. Would recommend, and there is need for more volunteers since there are not so many!

Semilla's Life was an amazing experience- I felt like it was a true cultural immersion in a place that would be difficult to access otherwise. I was only able to come for 2 weeks, but my spanish improved so much. I had a lot of fun teaching as we were able to incorporate lots of games to help the kids with their english. The weekend activities were great, we went to the waterfalls, swimming, camping, made chocolate, and visited a local tribe. Many thanks to Hans, Dora, Mayorit for welcoming us into their lives and showing us the beauty of peru!! Christian is very supportive. I recommend:)

I had a fantastic time volunteering at the organization! I really enjoyed teaching at the school and working with the kids. It's amazing to see that you can actually leave an impact. Moreover it is a really authentic experience. The local family is incredibly lovely and took us on many different trips. Since there are no tourists you really live like a local. The nature of the Amazon rainforest is so fascinating as well. I became friends with all the other volunteers and the shared house is also a great place to live. Thanks again to everyone! I'm very grateful for this experience!

I had such a great time in Codo! The teaching was a lot of fun and both the kids and adults were so welcoming, motivated and appreciative of us as volunteers! Dora, Hahns and family made us feel so incredibly welcome and ensured we were very well taken care of! They also provided us with great opportunities to explore the region and also to feel apart of the community in an authentic way! I can't thank them enough as a family for the kindness they showed me throughout my stay!

My experience in Codo del Pozuzo with Semilla's Life was unforgettable! The students were friendly and keen to learn . Teaching and seeing their progress was very rewarding. Codo is relaxed and friendly. I always felt safe. There are shops and restaurants and food shopping is cheap. The house is basic but the kitchen is well-equipped and the beds are very comfortable. I loved the jungle sounds at night. The locals who looked after us were lovely! They took us on trips to the jungle and Dora even invited us to her home for lunch. We became good friends and laughed a lot! 😁 Highly recommended!

I had an amazing time getting to know this wonderful little village. The landscapes there are stunning , it really is a small piece of paradise. Alle the people of the village are very friendly as well, but I would specifically like to thank Hans and Dora to immerse me in the lokal culture and entertain me in the free time. Also, it was a very good experience to improve your spanish. I was happy to already have some basic spanish knowledge to be able to connect with the locals and the students in class. They are all very lovely people !

Dora, Hans and Christian are lovely people! We enjoyed the accommodation and the proximity to the Main Street. There's some great local restaurants around. Unfortunately it was school holidays for most of our stay so we only taught 4 classes in our 2 weeks there. It's a quiet town with not a lot to do. Hans showed us a great part of the river which we walked to and swam in everyday. Our Spanish is only at a beginner level so it did present as quite a challenge at times. The weekend activities with Dora and Hans are super fun, and the kids are also super lovely.

We stayed in the town of Codo, met the lovely hosts, went on some fun adventures and did some teaching. I would recommend this to people interested in branching out of their comfort zone to engage in something meaningful.
